Chevrolet donated all proceeds from the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale charity auction to the American Red Cross, which will use the proceeds to support disaster relief efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which devastated the southeastern United States last September, as well as those affected by wildfires, severe storms, and countless other disasters.

Corvette Chief Engineer Josh Holder, along with representatives from the American Red Cross, introduced the fastest, most powerful Corvette ever to a global audience of potential bidders. Minutes later, Hendrick Companies founder and CEO Rick Hendrick won the bid for the first 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

The winning bid of $3.7 million ties the previous record for donations made at a car charity auction at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, set by the Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition in 2022. Scott Bell, Chevrolet’s Global Vice President, commented on the high bid:

“The 1079-horsepower Corvette ZR1 represents the pinnacle of American engineering,” said Chevrolet President and CEO, Barrett-Jackson. “Chevrolet is proud to partner with Barrett-Jackson and the American Red Cross to help improve the lives of those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, as well as the countless natural disasters across the country.”

The 8th generation Corvette raised over 2 billion yen in donations

Chevrolet has previously auctioned special models at the Barrett-Jackson charity auction, with the total amount donated by the eighth-generation Corvette reaching approximately 2.03 billion yen.

General Motors (GM) and Chevrolet have a longstanding relationship with the American Red Cross and have regularly supported the organization’s disaster relief efforts. Cliff Holtz, Chairman and CEO of the American Red Cross, expressed his gratitude to Chevrolet:

“The Red Cross is working around the clock to bring help and hope to people across the country affected by wildfires, floods and disasters large and small. We’re providing critical relief and comfort to families and communities in dire straits. Once again, we can’t thank Chevrolet enough for their tremendous generosity.”

Chevrolet has partnered with Barrett-Jackson’s charity auction program for over 15 years, donating prized Chevrolet models to various auctions and generating millions of dollars in donations. This latest auction brings the total amount raised by Chevrolet through the charity auction of eighth-generation Corvettes to $12.9 million.

Barrett-Jackson Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson commented on the collaboration with GM and Chevrolet:

“GM and Chevrolet have shared some of our most memorable moments together raising money for charity at the Barrett-Jackson auction. Over the years, GM has entrusted Barrett-Jackson with some of its most coveted first-run cars for charity.”

“We’re honored to continue that tradition in Scottsdale by offering the first sale of the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Not only will we make history with the sale of this rare collector vehicle for $3.7 million, but it will also help the Red Cross provide meals and emotional support to those affected by disasters, including the recent hurricanes on the East Coast and the fires in California.”
