AUDI RS5 Sedan

The RS5 comes in two models: sedan and avant.

All of the new Audi RS 5 prototypes spotted so far have been clad in station wagon bodies, but the recent sighting of a sedan test vehicle makes it almost certain that the RS 5 will be released in two styles: a wagon and a sedan, which Audi calls the “Avant.”

A sports model-like front

The prototype, photographed during testing in Europe, was heavily camouflaged, but the charging port could be seen on the left rear fender and the front end design was fairly clear.

The RS 5 Sedan, a major rival to the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C 63, has a low front end, a large black Singleframe grille, and muscular front wheel arches that are a hallmark of Audi’s serious sports car.

Close to rivals in design

Although the details of the side are hard to make out, slim air outlets can be seen behind the front arches. A compact lip spoiler is attached to the rear end. The car appears to have an attractive design that is just as impressive as its rivals, including the voluminous rear fenders and smooth roofline.

Approaching the 670 PS of the AMG C 63 SE Performance

Mercedes-AMG has downsized its engine from a V8 to an inline-four, but Audi appears to be sticking with the V6. The current RS 4 has a maximum output of 444 PS, but the next RS 5 is expected to have a significant power increase by combining a 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine with a plug-in hybrid system. It will likely approach the 671 PS of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 SE Performance.
