Exterior changes are minimal

A Range Rover prototype bearing British license plates has been spotted at a high-speed test drive at the Nürburgring. This isn’t just a Range Rover, it has two yellow stickers indicating it’s an electric vehicle, suggesting it could be a Range Rover Electric prototype.

On the exterior, we can see a partially enclosed front grille with slim horizontal slots, but otherwise it looks almost identical to the engine-powered Range Rover SUV.

‘Exceptional level’ all-wheel drive

A new traction control system that controls each of the four motors individually is expected to be adopted.

The platform will use the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA), which will support fully electric vehicles in addition to combustion engines and plug-in hybrid systems.

While powertrain details have yet to be revealed, it has already been announced that the Range Rover Electric will feature a new traction control system that will deliver “exceptional levels of performance.” It could reportedly feature a four-motor system with individual wheel control, potentially surpassing the V8 petrol version.

Based on the long-wheelbase Range Rover

The production model is said to be based on a long-wheelbase Range Rover engine, with a unique multi-link suspension design that makes efficient use of space and allows for efficient packaging of the battery and rear-wheel steering system.

The world premiere of the Range Rover Electric is expected to be in 2025. Prices are expected to range from 110,000 euros (approximately 17 million yen) to 150,000 euros (approximately 23 million yen) depending on the grade and options.
