PORSCHE 911 Turbo
Uses the same battery as the GTS

The 911 Turbo, which will be converted into a hybrid model with the minor change, is expected to be equipped with the same battery as the 911 Carrera GTS.
It has been revealed that the Porsche 911 Turbo will be a hybrid. In August of this year, Porsche invested 60 million euros (approximately 9.6 billion yen) in the German company Varta. The 1.9 kWh battery for the hybrid power pack of the 911 Carrera GTS, which has already evolved into the 992.2 generation, uses cells from Varta. The next-generation 911 Turbo will also use this same hybrid system.
GTS has improved acceleration performance

In the case of the GTS, the 54 PS boost drives an electric turbo, improving acceleration performance.
This system is not a PHEV, so it cannot run on electricity alone. Although it only reduces carbon dioxide emissions by a few g/km, it is expected to improve acceleration performance. The motor built into the 8-speed DCT installed in the GTS provides a 54 PS boost. By driving the electric turbo, the time from pressing the accelerator pedal to obtaining maximum torque has been reduced from 2 seconds to 0.5 seconds.
“Turbo” exceeds GTS by over 600PS

The performance of the power unit installed in the 911 Turbo will exceed that of the GTS.
The GTS’s 3.6-liter flat-six engine and hybrid unit produce a combined maximum system output of 540 PS and maximum torque of 609 Nm. Naturally, the “Turbo” model after the minor change will be given even more powerful specifications. It is believed that the maximum output will definitely exceed 600 PS.
Change in policy to strengthen hybrid model

Porsche is expected to review its BEV strategy and assemble a lineup focused on hybrids.
Porsche has slowed its pace toward full electrification and is now focusing on hybrids, likely strengthening its lineup with hybrids through 2030, including the next-generation 718 Boxster/Cayman, which was previously expected to be available only as an EV.
