All TWS products are carefully produced using the cutting forging method. This is symbolized by the surface treatment that gives off a unique, machined look. The texture is accentuated by the sanding mirror polish, which combines a buffed mirror finish with a scotch brushed finish. A chic, subdued flat black finish with flange cuts highlighting only the rim ends also suits the LX600.

The TWS lineup is divided into several categories. The flagship model is the Exspur series. Looking further into this, there is the EX segment, which is set up for each vehicle model and manufacturer. For Lexus, the EX segment is a major pillar, and they have released a number of dedicated wheels.

Its name is EX-fL. It stands for “for LEXUS” in the EX-F series. Although it claims to be exclusive to Lexus, it is not aimed at a specific brand or Lexus in general. It is clearly divided into a series of models for coupes/sedans, SUVs, and even for the LX570 and LX600. It is as if two premium brands made in Japan that have spread their wings to the world are coming together, enhancing each other’s worldviews.

We deliberately promote “vehicle model limitations”

The wheels are available in 22 and 24-inch sizes. They are available in two colors: Flat Black/Flange Cut and Sanding Mirror Polish (+33,000 yen). Genuine Lexus ornaments can also be installed.

The LX series in particular is completely designed specifically for each model. The previous model, the LX570 (J200 type), had a PCD of 5×150, but the current LX600 (J300 type) has been changed to a PCD of 6×139.7. Completely different from other Lexus models, it can be said that the Land Cruiser series has inherited the foundation of tough gear.

“It’s not just a matter of matching the wheels so that they fit. We take into account the different dimensions for each vehicle model, as well as the load and stress placed on each wheel, and give each wheel a different shape. From a business ethic and efficiency standpoint, it’s obvious that it’s better to have a certain degree of versatility and increase the number of vehicle models that it can be used on. However, in our quest for the ultimate wheel, we have deliberately pursued a “vehicle-specific” design. The Lexus LX maintains the world’s highest level of off-road performance while incorporating premium value, and we felt that this was something that should be pursued as the ultimate in vehicle-specific wheel design.”

So said an engineer from TAN-EI-SYA, who previously built TWS, proudly. The “EX-fL Design LXII” seems to be a masterpiece that brims with that confidence. These 22-inch and 24-inch wheels proudly boast the exclusive design and engineering for the LX600 mentioned above. Twelve twin spokes extend radially, centered around the PCD 6 x 139.7 bolt hole. They are powerful yet elegant. The way they sparkle in the light is truly beautiful. They harmonize with the impressive large spindle grille that is a distinctive feature of the LX600.

Thorough segmentation to satisfy users

The twin spokes have sharp edges and meticulous attention to detail. The concave face, which emphasizes the drop in the center, is also distinctive. The depth is 34.5mm for the 22-inch model and 35.8mm for the 24-inch model. This design was made possible thanks to TWS’s advanced cutting and forging technology, which even takes into account how the light hits the wheel.

In this way, TWS has focused on Lexus LX models, just as car manufacturers develop exclusive genuine wheels. Nowadays, it is not uncommon for car manufacturers to provide genuine wheels that are somewhat similar across different models, even if the car is different. TWS goes further than car manufacturers in that it foresees the performance requirements and worldview specific to each model and strives to provide specialization. The true value of TWS lies not only in the quality of the product itself, but also in the thorough specialization that satisfies users.
