Porsche 911 Carrera T

Purist 6-speed manual transmission and lightweight design

The Carrera T, positioned between the Carrera and Carrera S, is a model that combines lightweight construction with a manual transmission. The 6-speed manual transmission features an open-pore walnut laminated wood shift knob.

The new Porsche 911 Carrera T, based on the theme of “purism,” was developed as a pure sports model featuring agility, lightweight design, and a 6-speed manual transmission. A customized equipment package exclusively for the Carrera T creates a stylish individuality, and for the first time, a Cabriolet version will also be available for the 911 Carrera T.

The lightest version of the 911 Carrera T, equipped with full bucket seats, weighs 1,478 kg thanks to lightweight windows, reduced insulation, and a 6-speed manual transmission, making it more than 40 kg lighter than the 911 Carrera. The “T” in the model name stands for Touring, and Porsche traces its roots back to the 911 T, which was introduced in 1968. Since 2017, the 911 Carrera T has been positioned between the Carrera and Carrera S.

The power unit is a 3.0-liter flat-six twin-turbo engine, also found in the 911 Carrera. It produces a maximum output of 290kW (394PS) and a maximum torque of 450Nm. The rear wheels are driven via a standard six-speed manual transmission. An “auto-blipping” function has also been introduced, which automatically compensates for the difference in engine and gearbox speeds when downshifting.

The “Sport Chrono Package” is standard, and the 911 Carrera T Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, while the 911 Carrera T Cabriolet takes 4.7 seconds. The top speed is 295 km/h for the 911 Carrera T Coupe and 293 km/h for the 911 Carrera T Cabriolet. In response to the increased power from the previous model, the brake system has been enlarged, with brake discs measuring 350 mm in diameter and six-piston fixed calipers at the front.

Introducing dedicated chassis tuning

The “Sport Chrono Package” is now standard, and the new model also features “rear axle steering,” achieving more direct handling.

For the first time on the 911 Carrera T, rear-axle steering has been introduced as standard. In addition to rear-axle steering, a direct steering ratio on the front axle has been combined to significantly improve handling performance. The tuning of the rear-axle steering has also been developed specifically for the 911 Carrera T, resulting in more direct steering response and improved stability.

The PASM adaptive sports suspension is standard, lowered by 10 mm. Its special sporty tuning makes the 911 Carrera T even more agile. Thanks to rear-axle steering and a specially optimized aerodynamic balance, the anti-roll bars on both the front and rear axles are set to a neutral position.

MT-specific sticker on rear window

A special sticker for the Porsche 911 Carrera T equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.

A special sticker resembling the shift gate of a 6-speed manual transmission is placed on the rear window.

A special sticker with a shift pattern and logo is attached to the rear window to indicate that it is a manual transmission model. The rear model logo is a contrasting color, Vanadium Gray, and the rear lid grille inlay, exterior mirrors, lower trim, and lightweight alloy wheels are also unified in Vanadium Gray Metallic. The lip spoiler introduced from the 911 Carrera GTS is also installed.

The exterior color lineup includes the Legend colors “Shade Green Metallic,” “Crayon,” and “Slate Gray Neo,” as well as the Dream colors “Guards Red,” “Lugano Blue,” “Gentian Blue Metallic,” and “Cartagena Yellow Metallic.” For more subdued shade colors, choose from “Jet Black Metallic,” “GT Silver Metallic,” and “Ice Gray Metallic.”

The optional Carrera T Design Package comes with a classic Gentian Blue finish, and the rear lid inlay, Carrera T decals on the front and rear lids and doors, manual transmission stickers, and gloss-finished lightweight alloy wheels on the front are also changed to Gentian Blue.

Tartan check pattern exclusive to the 911 Carrera T

The seat patterns and door trim feature a classic tartan pattern exclusive to the 911 Carrera T.

The cockpit is finished in a sporty black with contrast stitching (optional). The dashboard features the Sport Chrono Package stopwatch. Atop the shift lever is an open-pore walnut laminated wood shift knob, which not only looks great but also feels great to the touch.

A badge with the “MT” logo is placed in front of the gear lever. A shift pattern logo is also printed on the passenger side of the dashboard. A leather-covered “heated GT sports steering wheel (with mode switch)” is standard, and a “Race-Tex” steering wheel is also available as an option. The decorative inlays on the dashboard and center console are vanadium gray, and the door panel inlays are black brushed aluminum.

Black 4-way electrically adjustable sports seats with “Sport-Tex” seat centers are standard equipment. The interior tartan pattern is exclusive to the 911 Carrera T. Adaptive sports seats plus (18-way adjustable) and lightweight full bucket seats are also available as options.

The interior of vehicles equipped with the Carrera T Design Package features Gentian Blue contrast stitching and contrast stripes instead of the standard black stitching, as well as Gentian Blue seat belts, center console, door panel trim, contrast inlays on the headrests, and embroidered 911 logos.
