BMW Skytop
Decision made to produce the product after the overwhelming response following the announcement

The BMW Concept Skytop was unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este held on Lake Como in Italy in May 2024. Due to the overwhelming response, BMW has decided to produce a limited run of 50 units.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of BMW M GmbH, it has been decided that the BMW Skytop will be produced, following the BMW 3.0 CSL, which was announced in 2022. Developed as a sleek two-seater coupe, the BMW Skytop expresses BMW’s “sheer driving pleasure” and embodies timeless elegance through craftsmanship.
The car had its world premiere as a design study, the BMW Concept Skytop, at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, a historic car and motorcycle event held on Lake Como in Italy in 2024. Following the excitement it generated among the media and car enthusiasts who gathered, BMW decided to produce a limited run of 50 units.
The power unit is the most powerful V8 engine in BMW’s lineup. The 4.4-liter V8 gasoline turbo produces a maximum output of 633 PS (460 kW) and drives all four wheels via an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and the BMW xDrive system. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is estimated at approximately 3.3 seconds.
This big news was announced by Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design, at an art event in Milan, Italy, hosted by BMW headquarters. The BMW Concept Skytop was on display at the venue, once again attracting a lot of attention. Van Hooydonk expressed his delight at the decision to produce the Skytop:
“The BMW Skytop combines exotic design with the highest levels of driving performance and elegance. The production launch of this car is a dream come true for us. Since the concept car was unveiled, we have received an overwhelmingly positive response from around the world. Once again, I would like to thank the enthusiastic team who worked on this project.”
Exterior that pays homage to the BMW Z8

The BMW Skytop, with its classical yet taut surfaces, pays homage to models such as the BMW Z8 and BMW 503. The arrow-shaped hood and shark nose are design elements taken from the Z8.
Following the previously limited production of the BMW 3.0 CSL, the BMW Skytop will also be produced in a limited run of just 50 units. The interior and exterior design pays homage to the BMW Z8 and BMW 503, and the warm monotone color scheme seamlessly blends high-quality materials and traditional craftsmanship.
The highlight of the exterior is the spline that extends from the hood to the aluminum bar on the trunk lid. The sculpted, taut bodywork is composed of several delicate lines, and the dynamic surface continues seamlessly from the front to the rear section. In place of conventional door handles, winglets are placed on the door shoulders, and the car is equipped with special lightweight alloy wheels with a glitter finish.
The illuminated kidney grille and headlights also highlight this special model. The LED light units are mounted on an aluminum carrier, achieving the thinnest shape for a car headlight currently on the market. The arrow-shaped hood, shark-nose front section, and tapered taillights all pay homage to the BMW Z8.
The interior is decorated in reddish brown.

The main color of the handmade leather interior remains the same as when the concept car was unveiled, and is a luxurious reddish brown.
The interior is handcrafted at the BMW Group’s Dingolfing plant using traditional leather tools, with brogue-style accents on the leather seats and reddish brown trim throughout.
A leather-trimmed rollover bar is positioned behind the front seats, combined with side fins on the B-pillars and a fully opening rear window, while the removable leather roof section can be stored in a dedicated compartment in the luggage area.
