MERCEDES-BENZ GLE Coupe
“Four-star” DRL on the front

[1]

[2]
[1] The next-generation Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe features four star-shaped DRLs, two on each side. [2] It appears that changes will be made to the rear bumper as well as the front.
Previously spotted Mercedes-Benz GLE prototypes were equipped with star-shaped LED lights at the rear, similar to those already found on the current E-Class sedan. Spy shots of the GLE Coupe now show the front lights also sporting star-shaped LEDs, with two on each side for a total of four star-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs).
Mercedes opts for no split headlights, instead housing the low and high beam headlights in the same unit as the star-shaped DRLs, but the main light is positioned further back to give the DRLs a raised appearance, making them less noticeable when not on.
Along with the headlights, the grille is also expected to have a new design. This prototype appears to have an E-Class-style design, but as it is heavily camouflaged, it is not possible to say for sure at this point.
Will the powertrain have enhanced electric assist?

[3]

[4]
[3] The power unit is expected to remain the same as the current model, but with enhanced electric assist. [4] A star-shaped design can also be seen in the taillight unit.
The Japanese market currently offers a 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo engine, combined with a mild hybrid system: a diesel (367 PS GLE 450d 4Matic Coupe Sport) and a gasoline (435 PS AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe). The top model in the lineup is the AMG GLE63 S 4Matic+ Coupe, equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 gasoline engine with a maximum output of 612 PS. (The GLE SUV model is also available with a 269 PS 2.0-liter inline-4 diesel.)
These powertrains are expected to carry over, but the V8 may be replaced with a powerful straight-six. Also, some American reports have confirmed that the 2026 model of the 53 will switch from a mild hybrid to a full hybrid (or is it a PHEV?), with output increasing to 543 PS.
