Coupe style further evolved

The CG rendering, created based on information obtained about the next-generation Toyota Harrier, emphasizes the coupe style by blacking out the rear of the C-pillar. The body side design is modeled after the Sports Crossover Concept that Toyota announced at the end of 2023, emphasizing wide proportions and a three-dimensional feel.

The front adopts Toyota’s new design trend, “Hammerhead.” Six projectors are placed inside the headlights. The front grille has a two-tiered structure, which is expected to create a design with a strong presence.

The body size is expected to be 4750mm long, 1860mm wide and 1640mm high, 10mm longer, 5mm wider and 20mm lower than the current model.

With the body getting larger, the cabin is expected to be equipped with a next-generation infotainment system that works in conjunction with AI technology. On-device voice recognition, which does not require an internet connection, is likely.

The engine is also new generation!

The engine bay will house a 1.5-liter inline-four turbocharged engine. This newly developed power unit was announced at the Multipathway Workshop, a next-generation engine technology briefing held jointly by Toyota, Subaru, and Mazda. It is 20% more compact in volume and 15% more compact in height than the existing 2.5-liter inline-four naturally aspirated engine.

By installing this engine, it will be possible to lower the nose, which will lead to a form that reduces air resistance and improves fuel efficiency.In addition, it seems that the adoption of a hybrid with an additional motor and a plug-in hybrid system that produces a total system output of 320 PS is also planned.

The world premiere of the new Harrier is expected to be in the second half of 2026.
