Curvistan Bangkok × Porsche 956 LH

A hub for Porsche enthusiasts in Southeast Asia

The special exhibition "Raceborn" was held at Kurvistan Bangkok.

Opening in the heart of Bangkok in 2024, Kurvistan Bangkok will feature a gallery, shop and cafe as a space for Porsche enthusiasts.

In 2024, Stefan Bogner, founder of Curves magazine, and Chanond Ruangkritiya, a Thai real estate developer and renowned Porsche collector, opened Curvistan Bangkok, a cafe space for Thai Porsche enthusiasts. Curvistan Bangkok quickly became one of Bangkok’s leading cultural spots.

Located in the affluent Thonglor district in the heart of Bangkok, Kurvistan Bangkok combines a gallery, cafe, and experience space for car and design enthusiasts. With the support of Porsche Asia Pacific and Porsche Thailand, Kurvistan Bangkok has grown into an information hub for Porsche enthusiasts in Southeast Asia.

To celebrate the first anniversary of its opening, the museum has planned a special exhibition called “Raceborn.” This unique special exhibition features various exhibits celebrating Porsche’s history, which dates back to its roots in motorsport. The centerpiece is the Porsche 956 LH, proudly displaying the starting number “1.” This car, winner of the 1982 24 Hours of Le Mans, has been airlifted from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart for the special exhibition.

Photo session for 956 LH held in Bangkok

Prior to the event, Kurvistan Bangkok brought the 956 LH to Bangkok for a special photo session.

Prior to the event, Kurvistan Bangkok brought the 956 LH to Bangkok for a special photo session.

Prior to the exhibition, the team at Kurvistan Bangkok had the rare opportunity to photograph the 956 LH in the heart of Bangkok, where the images depict a striking contrast between Southeast Asian tradition and Weissach’s ultimate technology.

Bogner, who organized the special exhibition and the photo shoot in Bangkok, was delighted to see the Porsche Museum’s 956 LH being shown in Thailand for the first time.

“It’s rare to see a racing car with such a history, not just in Thailand, but in all of Asia. The response on the streets of Bangkok while we were filming was overwhelming. The Porsche community in Southeast Asia is incredibly passionate, and coming face to face with a real 956 was a dream come true for many.”

In addition to the 956 LH, the exhibition will feature a range of cars that pay homage to the golden age of Group C, including the 911 GT3 R that competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the Manthey Racing 911 GT3, and a 911 Carrera (992.2 model) dressed in Rothmans livery as an homage to the 956 LH.

The special exhibition “Laceborn” will run until October 1, 2025, and admission is free from 8am to 10pm.
