With the completion of the E-Vortex, real-world driving tests that had previously been conducted in the surrounding city areas can now be conducted within Fiorano.
Ferrari E-Vortex
Possible to reduce public road testing
The new Ferrari E-Vortex testing facility has been designed to meet cutting-edge development and validation testing requirements, enabling precise and repeatable testing while meeting the highest safety standards. The 1,887m long track is divided into several sectors, each specialised to cater to specific validation requirements, such as performance or driving pleasure.
The track features two wide, banked and inclined corners, a main straight and a handling corner for studying vehicle dynamics, while special surface materials developed with Ferrari’s experience and expertise allow for detailed analysis of comfort and performance.
With the completion of the E-Vortex, Ferrari will gradually move its driving tests, which have been conducted on public roads, to its Fiorano facility. This will enable more accurate and objective evaluation of performance, and will also make it easier to detect any abnormalities in the components installed at an early stage.
The consolidation of the test areas within Fiorano is expected to reduce the impact on traffic in the surrounding area. Complementing the E-Vortex, a new 1,000-square-meter overhaul factory will be built. This will enable static testing and some maintenance work to be carried out, further optimizing the efficiency of vehicle overhauls.
