Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S
794km run on public roads

The ID.7 Pro S achieved a range of 794km on a route covering a variety of traffic conditions, far exceeding its catalogue figure.
Volkswagen Team Switzerland’s range challenge with the ID.7 Pro S took place on an 81-kilometre circuit in Zug, south of Zurich. The route simulates everyday driving conditions and includes major roads, highways and hilly country roads.
Eight different drivers drove a total of 794 km over two days on a single charge. The average power consumption was an extremely low 10.3 kWh per 100 km, significantly lower than the 13.6 kWh claimed for the ID.7 Pro S. Converting this figure to a diesel engine, the company claims that the average fuel consumption is just 1.1 liters per 100 km.
The average speed during this test was 51 km/h. After reaching 794 km, the remaining range displayed was 2 km. What’s interesting is that the model used for the test drive was not a range-focused ID.7 Pro S. The vehicle used was equipped with options such as the Comfort Package, IQ.DRIVE Assist System Package, Plus Exterior Package, and Heat Pump, and has a maximum range of 700 km.
New Range Record for “Hypermiler”

The 794km range, far exceeding the catalogue figure of 709km, was achieved through an efficient drive by Felix Egolf, who has previously set longest driving records in Volkswagen EVs.
Felix Egolf, who led the range challenge, is a specialist in long-distance driving in EVs and has earned the nickname “hypermiler” for his extremely energy-efficient driving techniques.
In 2020 and 2021, Egolf set two range world records driving a Volkswagen ID.3. In the first, he drove 531 km from Zwickau in Saxony, Germany, to Schaffhausen in Switzerland, significantly exceeding the ID.3’s range specifications. In his second record attempt, he drove an ID.3 Pro S equipped with a larger battery capacity, covering 602 km on a single charge, crossing 15 passes in the Alps and reaching an altitude of 13,000 m.
