The Alpine A110 Rally, launched in 2020, has won numerous rallies, primarily in regional and national championships where RGT regulations are in place. The A110 Rally, and the A110 Rally GT+, introduced this season, have amassed 46 wins and 162 podium finishes against 4WD models. They have also taken home numerous titles, including two FIA R-GT Cup wins, three FFSA French 2WD Championship wins, and one Spanish Tarmac Rally Cup victory.

This weekend, a new chapter will be written in Alpine’s rally history. The A110 Rally, which has competed in the WRC 12 times and remains undefeated in the R-GT class, has decided to enter the final round of the WRC, Rally Japan, to be held in Aichi and Gifu, marking its first WRC trip outside of Europe.

Louis Chazelle, team manager of the Chazelle Technology Course Team, expressed his enthusiasm for participating in Rally Japan as follows:

“We are honored to be competing in Rally Japan for the first time with the Alpine A110 Rally. We understand the passion for the Alpine A110 in Japan, and this will be a great experience for us.”

“Rally Japan will be held in particularly tricky weather conditions, with changeable conditions. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to this unique experience and can’t wait to see how the A110 performs on Rally Japan.”

Special coloring with a dragon design

To commemorate its first attempt at a rally outside of Europe, the car is given a special livery featuring a dragon that evokes Japan.

The Alpine A110 Rally entered by the Chazelle Technology Course team will be driven by Belgian driver Armand Fumal and co-driver Jules Escartifig. The pair achieved class victories in the 2023 and 2024 WRC Central Europe Rally. Attention is focused on what kind of performance they will be able to show at Rally Japan against the superior Rally 2/R5 teams entered in the WRC Masters Cup.

This time, Fumar’s A110 Rally is given a special color scheme inspired by Japanese culture, with a dragon motif painted on the entire body. Fumar, who has made their first appearance in Rally Japan, commented as follows:

“Following Monte Carlo and Central Europe, Rally Japan will be the finale of this season’s WRC tarmac program. The Alpine A110 Rally is a very unique rally car. It will definitely catch the eye wherever it goes and stand out from its rivals. Whether in the service park or on the stage, this rally car will create a real buzz around it.”

“We are looking forward to the same kind of excitement this weekend, and to a turnout of true enthusiasts. We have paid homage to Japanese culture and chosen a livery and racing suit that reflects it. We would like to thank all our partners, WRC Promoter and Alpine Japon, who made this project possible. We will do our best to shine in the two-wheel drive category!”

Alpine will have a special booth at the venue during the rally week. On Sunday the 17th, at the press day, Fumar introduced the A110 Rally to the Japanese media. The A110 will also be on display at the Toyota Stadium service park.
