Straight center groove

The tread pattern of the CrossClimate 3 is characterized by a straight groove in the center.
The Michelin CrossClimate is an all-season tire that can be driven on snowy roads while maintaining sporty and comfortable performance on dry roads. It was first released in Europe in 2015 and was launched in Japan in 2019. It has handling and wet performance that are just as good as summer tires, and a comfortable ride. And yet, it can be driven without worry even in sudden snow showers, making it a truly versatile tire that has earned high praise.
In 2021, it evolved into the CrossClimate 2, and at the same time the CrossClimate 2 SUV was added to the lineup, but in the fall of 2025, the CrossClimate has evolved even further: the CrossClimate 3 and CrossClimate 3 Sport.
The biggest change from the CrossClimate 2 to the CrossClimate 3 is the tread pattern. The basic V-shaped pattern is inherited from the previous model, but adding a straight groove in the center further improves water drainage and snow removal. Furthermore, the block width has been narrowed and the block edges have been increased, improving snow grip.
Optimal placement of blocks of different sizes also reduces noise. Furthermore, uniform ground pressure improves wear resistance. These improvements not only improve grip on dry and snowy surfaces compared to the CrossClimate 2, but also provide long-lasting performance. The new tire is also the first in the series to achieve an AA rating in the rolling resistance labeling (10 sizes out of 35).
Incorporating Pilot Sports technology

The CrossClimate 3 Sport features Premium Touch, which gives the sidewalls a deeper black color.
The CrossClimate 3 Sport is a new model added to the series. As the name suggests, it is a product aimed at high-performance sports cars and premium cars. It was developed based on data showing that users of these cars have recently shown interest in all-season tires.
The exclusive tread compound, Thermal Adaptive Compound 2.0, improves dry and wet grip, and the Dynamic Response Technology, also used in the Pilot Series, delivers superior handling. As a result, wet lap times are said to be approximately 2.4% shorter than the CrossClimate 2. The tire is available in 21-inch, 35-profile, and 295-width sizes, making it suitable for imported premium sports cars.
Further sizes are planned

Former President Sudo and Michelin Man unveiling the CrossClimate 3.
The “CrossClimate 2 SUV” that was previously in the lineup will no longer be available. The reason given is that since it is compatible with all types of vehicles, there is no longer any need to specifically call it an SUV, and doing so could potentially narrow down users’ choices. Currently, the “CrossClimate 3” and “CrossClimate 3 Sport” do not have overlapping sizes, so which tire you get is automatically determined by the tire size of your vehicle, but there are plans to expand the size range in the future.
At the press conference held in Tokyo, Michelin Japan President Gen Sudo and the Michelin Man were present to unveil the new models. The CrossClimate 3 and CrossClimate 3 Sport will go on sale from October 1st.
