Fuji Speedway’s spring tradition, Motor Fan Festa 2025, was held on April 20th. This year’s event was packed with highlights, including a large-scale test drive event where visitors could test drive popular models from Japan and abroad all at once. British lightweight sports car brand Caterham exhibited two cars: the Super Seven 600, which is part of their current lineup, and the fully electric Project V, which hints at the Caterham of the future.
Taking inspiration from Caterham’s early Super Seven, which was released in the 1970s and became a signature model of the 1980s, the Super Seven 600 is the latest model equipped with a Suzuki 660cc inline-3 turbo engine. The front clamshell fenders give it a nostalgic feel, and according to a source, the embossed logo on the seat is an older style, which also contributes to the classic feel.
One of the joys of Caterham is the wide variety of bespoke choices available, but the body color (Bordeaux Red) and interior choices of the model on display this time are apparently a package selected by PR in the home country. It seems that such choices will take time to deliver, but since it’s not something you can buy often, it’s a good idea to be particular about the specifications.

The other car is the EV sports coupe, Project V. This beautifully designed fully electric sports coupe recently won the Excellence Award at the internationally prestigious German Design Award 2025. Development is reportedly progressing steadily and vigorously, with detailed information about the motor and battery gradually emerging. Production is scheduled to begin in 2027.
This small sports car manufacturer, which produces around 2,000 cars a year, is about to undergo a major transformation. This is your chance to see firsthand the evolution of this worldview that has taken place over the 50 years between the 1970s and the 2020s. At the venue, you can receive a sticker by following Caterham’s official Instagram account, so be sure to get one too.
The Project V mockup exhibited this time has been shown at various events in Japan, but will be returning to the UK for Motor Fan Festa 2025. If you’re still in time at the time of posting this article (10am on April 20th), we hope you’ll head over to Fuji Speedway to see the real thing for yourself.
