1977 Ferrari 512 BB
A rare right-hand drive “512 BB”

Only 101 right-hand drive Ferrari 512 BBs were delivered in the UK, and one of these rare, one-owner examples is now up for auction.
Founded in 1993, H&H Classics is a specialist automotive auction house with a wide range of business operations in the UK and Europe. It has handled rare historic cars, including a 1960 Ferrari 250GT SWB, a 1968 Lotus 49B, Queen Elizabeth’s Daimler, and Prince Philip’s Lagonda, as well as cars used by the British Royal Family. For the past 32 years, the company has combined its expertise in the historic car and collector industries to provide the highest level of service to buyers and sellers.
The 1977 Ferrari 512 BB being auctioned is a rare, one-owner widebody car with just 6,000 miles (approximately 9,600 km). It is a unique example among the 101 right-hand drive 512 BBs delivered in the UK. It will be auctioned at H&H Classic’s Cambridgeshire Auction, which will be held at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, on April 9, 2025.
A tribute to the Le Mans 24 Hours race spec

This particular car pays homage to the 512 BB Competizione, with bodywork modifications and engine updates carried out by Ferrari dealer Maranello Concessionaires.
This 1977 Ferrari 512 BB was fitted by Ferrari dealer Maranello Concessionaires with wider wheels, engine modifications and modified bodywork, while the interior is finished in Rosso Chiaro with black hide and carpet, and includes front and rear aluminium clamshells and larger NACA cooling ducts.
The car has been meticulously maintained from the time it was new until the present day. Vince Mezzullo, a former Ferrari employee who struck up a good relationship with the owner due to their shared Sicilian ancestry, has been in charge of the maintenance both during his time at Maranello Concessionaires and even after he left the company.
This particular example, being offered for sale by the wife of the late owner, is said to have inspired the factory-approved 512 BB Competizione, which was raced by Charles Pozzi in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1978. John Markey, automotive specialist at H&H Classics, commented on its rarity:
“This widebody Ferrari 512 BB is a rare one-owner example. In addition to its exclusive exterior, it has undergone extensive mechanical modifications. It has remained with one owner since new and has a truly rare low mileage record. It is a car worth taking a closer look at at Cambridgeshire Auctions.”
