Lotus Esprit S1
Lotus’ new design policy

Lotus has announced a new design policy called “Lotus Theory” at Milan Design Week. To coincide with this theme, we will be showcasing both old and new Lotus designs.
Lotus, which is promoting electrification, will unveil its new design manifesto, “The Lotus Theory,” at Milan Design Week in 2025. The three “theories” of “Digital,” “Natural,” and “Analog” will be presented and the design will be explained.
“Digital” represents an immersive, intelligent and intuitive experience, while “Natural” represents the realization of emotional, connected and human-centered design. “Analog” represents the continuous performance and engineering evolution of the Lotus brand.
The exhibition booth will also bring together Lotus’ past, present, and future. The main attractions will be the Esprit S1, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary since its debut, and Lotus’ latest fully electric saloon, the Emeya. The design of the fully electric Theory 1 concept will also be unveiled, showcasing Lotus’ vision for the future.
Ben Payne, Lotus Group’s Vice President of Design, commented on the company’s participation at Milan Design Week, “Milan Design Week is the world’s leading venue for design, creativity and innovation. Design is at the heart of Lotus and this event will showcase the design process that defines us as a brand.”
Collaboration with Fabio Novembre

Lotus has announced that it will participate in Milan Design Week 2025, which will be held from April 8th to 13th. The company will exhibit the Esprit S1, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary since its debut.
The Lotus exhibition at Milan Design Week will be comprised of three immersive areas: “Context,” “Practice,” and “Studio.” “Context” will feature video projections that delve into the history and heritage of Lotus, as well as the evolution of design and engineering, as well as historical Lotus artifacts.
“Practice” will take visitors behind the scenes of Lotus design, revealing how the company’s inherited design DNA influences its models. “Studio” will be a collaboration with Fabio Novembre, a renowned Italian architect and designer, and will feature an exhibition of the design archives that the two companies have worked on together.
Fabio Novembre, who will be collaborating with Lotus at Milan Design Week, expressed his enthusiasm as follows:
“Speed doesn’t just mean horsepower. It’s faster than time, and it’s about ideas crystallizing into a frame. Flowing lines, aerodynamic forms, and a sense of movement. A car’s design isn’t static; it’s about inspiring excitement and constantly pushing the boundaries.”
During the event, there will also be open exhibitions, talk shows and workshops by various creators and designers, including major partners Pirelli, Olivetti and Motorskins.
