The current Mercedes-Benz V-Class, celebrating its 10th anniversary since its debut, will undergo a major update in 2024. To mark the end of the anniversary year, a special edition “V-Class Marco Polo Horizon” has been released.

The current V-Class, which debuted 10 years ago with its spacious interior and elegant styling, created a new segment in the Mercedes-Benz lineup: the “XXL limousine.” Since then, the V-Class, which combines functionality and style, has become highly popular as the base for campervans and recreational vehicles.

In 2024, marking the 10th anniversary of its debut, the V-Class has undergone a near-full model change. The latest V-Class raises the bar for comfort and style to new levels and was introduced to the market in early 2024. The camper-style V-Class Marco Polo has also undergone a model change. To conclude the anniversary year, Mercedes-Benz is introducing a new grade: the V-Class Marco Polo Horizon.

Klaus Rechgler, Head of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Vans, commented on the V-Class Marco Polo Horizon:

“The V-Class Marco Polo Horizon completes the V-Class family and meets the needs of even more customers. The current V-Class has become an attractive choice for families and VIPs, whether as an XXL-format limousine for up to eight people or as a mobile reception room with luxurious en suite seats.”

“The V-Class Marco Polo is a fully furnished campervan, perfect for travel. With a roof bed, reclining bench seats and swivel front seats, it’s designed for leisure enthusiasts. It takes comfort and style to a new level and comes with a comprehensive upgrade of standard equipment.”

The new addition to the lineup, the V-Class Marco Polo Horizon, has been developed as the definitive model to complete the V-Class family.

The exterior features an impressive radiator grille and a powerfully designed bumper, and depending on the equipment package selected, the radiator grille is framed by an LED light strip.Advanced “Adaptive Multibeam LED headlights” add a stylish accent to the vehicle’s appearance.

The rear section features a special LED taillight design, a luxurious chrome strip with the Mercedes-Benz logo, and individually opening rear glass windows. Furthermore, new exterior colors and wheel designs are introduced from the V-Class Marco Polo Horizon.

Like the V-Class and standard V-Class Marco Polo, it features a pop-up roof yet remains small enough to fit in a standard garage or multi-storey car park. It’s powered by an efficient and powerful 2.0-liter inline-four OM654 turbo diesel engine, available with standard rear-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive.

The V-Class Marco Polo Horizon comes standard with rotating front seats, a second-row three-seater reclining and sliding seat, and a pop-up roof bed, which can be combined with a folding table to transform the cabin into a living room.

The interior features a modern widescreen cockpit with two 12.3-inch displays. The infotainment system, MBUX, has been updated to the latest specifications. The 2024 update also includes stylish new designs for the air vents, steering wheel, and center console. Keyless entry, a heated steering wheel, and ambient lighting with a choice of 64 colors have also been introduced.

The V-Class Marco Polo Horizon offers maximum functionality with up to seven seats and five berths. The second row comes standard with three reclining and sliding seats and a pop-up roof bed (2050mm x 1130mm). Two drawers are provided under the bench seat, providing ample storage space.

The new V-Class is the first to feature sliding doors on both sides, making it easy to get in and out as well as load and unload luggage. Rotating front seats are also standard equipment, and by installing an optional folding table in the rear, it can be transformed into a relaxing living room. External power connection and auxiliary heaters are also available as options.

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of its debut, the Mercedes-Benz Museum will be holding a special exhibition of the original Marco Polo until January 2025.
