The 2025 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and FuoriConcorso brought together rare Mercedes-Benz prototype racing cars and super sports cars on the shores of Lake Como.
Mercedes-Benz Classic used a crane to transport the Mercedes-Benz C11, built by Sauber for the 1990 World Sports Prototype Championship (WSPC), the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, which competed in the 1997 FIA GT Championship, and the production-spec CLK GTR Coupé into the gardens of Villa del Grumello.
For two days, May 24th and 25th, the Silver Arrows of the 1990s will entertain the gathered motorsport fans. In addition, on the 25th, a talk show featuring high-level guests will be held at Villa Scota. Markus Breitschwerdt, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Heritage, will take part in panel discussions on topics such as “Rally and F1” and “Italian Racing.”
An endurance racing car with deep Italian ties

The Mercedes-Benz C11, which won the WSPC in the 1990 season, and the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR (pictured left), which won the FIA GT Championship in the 1997 season, were both brought in as racing cars with deep ties to Italy.
The Fuori Concorso event, which celebrates the traditions of motorsports, has been held at Villa del Grumello and Villa Scota since 2019. This time, Mercedes-Benz Classic exhibited two racing sports cars with deep ties to Italy in the Villa del Grumello gardens.
The Mercedes-Benz C11 had a perfect debut, achieving a 1-2 finish at the 1990 Trofeo Caracciolo at Monza, while the CLK GTR Racing Sport achieved second place in the 1997 FIA GT Championship at Mugello with Alessandro Nannini and Marcel Thiemmann, bringing Mercedes-Benz the series titles in 1990 and 1997, respectively.
The road-going CLK GTR Coupe, which debuted in 1998, features a rear-mounted 6.9-liter V12 engine that produces a maximum output of 612 PS. Sold as an extremely rare road-going super sports car, only 20 Coupes and 5 Roadsters were ever produced.
