The Lotus booth displayed two of its latest EV models, but they exude completely opposite vibes: the chic electric SUV “EleTre” and the flashy electric GT “Emeya.”
The EleTre features gold accent stripes all over its black body. Yes, this is, of course, an homage to the Type 79, which dominated F1 racing in the late 1970s. It sharpens the glamorous body of the EleTre and evokes its glorious history, making it a must-have for fans. A small Type 79 silhouette is featured on the side of the body, and a bold reinterpretation of the Union Jack is painted on the C-pillar.

On the other hand, the Emeya has the front half of the body painted pink and the back half painted orange. The gradation around the B-pillar connecting the two is beautiful. This model, named “Emeya Blossom,” is said to be inspired by the dahlias and roses that bloom in Colin Chapman’s garden in the UK.
The seamless transition between pink and orange, which expresses the delicate hues of blooming flowers, is achieved by hand painting. The purple interior is also a highlight.
The base models are the Elettre S and the Emeya S. Both were cars unveiled at last year’s Beijing Motor Show and were specially brought to the Auto Salon. As both cars focus on cosmetic customization, no tuning has been done on the engine, suspension, or other driving performance aspects.
This customization program will be introduced in Japan in the near future and will be rolled out to include the Emira. Please come and check it out at the venue before the full-scale introduction.
