Lamborghini SC63
Focusing on the self-developed Temerario project

Lamborghini has suspended its LMDh-compliant prototype “SC63” program to focus on the development of the Temerario GT3 (pictured) and Temerario Super Trofoe.
Lamborghini Squadra Corse has decided to restructure its motorsports activities, announcing that it will discontinue its IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship program with the Lamborghini SC63 at the end of the 2025 season.
The Hypercar/GTP project, originally conceived as a natural evolution of customer racing activities, was launched with the aim of expanding the presence of the Lamborghini brand. Starting from the 2024 season, the SC63, developed under LMDh regulations, will be entered into the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and IMSA.
The program was intended to expand global exposure by competing in two different series with the same hybrid-powered racing car. However, after the program began, the program’s underlying conditions changed, and as the project progressed, the team was forced to allocate more budgetary and technical resources than expected.
In 2025, the team decided not to enter the WEC, which requires a two-car team, and instead entered only one SC63 car in IMSA. This led to the decision to suspend the scaled-down SC63 program.
In response, Lamborghini will focus on the GT3 and Super Trofeo, and will reallocate personnel and budget resources to focus on the Temerario GT3 and Temerario Super Trofeo, which are currently being developed as the company’s first in-house projects.
The Temerario GT3 was officially unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2025 and is currently undergoing a test program on European circuits. Its official debut is scheduled for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the 12 Hours of Sebring, round two of the championship. The Temerario Super Trofeo is scheduled to be unveiled later this year.
