Countach LPI 800-4
Lamborghini has announced the Revuelto, a V12-powered super sports car that will be the successor to the Aventador in 2023. The car is equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 engine and a High Performance EV (HPEV) system with three motors, ensuring a top speed of 350 km/h and a range of approximately 10 km in EV mode (Citta mode).
Two years prior to the debut of the Revuelto, in 2021, Lamborghini unveiled the Countach LPI 800-4, a special model limited to 112 units, at The Quail Motorsports Gathering to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Countach LP500. The modern-day Countach features a contemporary reinterpretation of the original exterior design and a 48V mild-hybrid powertrain derived from the Sián FKP37.
The Revuelto, which boasts an imposing physique as a flagship, is 77mm longer in body length and 79mm longer in wheelbase. The Countach LPI 800-4 uses a supercapacitor (electric double layer capacitor), but its vehicle weight is 177kg lighter than the Revuelto, which is equipped with a large-capacity lithium-ion battery in the center tunnel.

The Revuelto uses a plug-in hybrid system that combines a rear-mounted 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine with two motors on the front axle and one motor built into the 8-speed DCT, producing a maximum system output of 1,015 PS.
The Countach LPI 800-4, on the other hand, is equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine and a 48V mild hybrid system, boasting a maximum output of 780 PS. However, the power of the three motors is immense, and the Revuelto’s acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 0.3 seconds faster.

The good fortune of being able to get the latest hybrid

The Revuelto’s interior features a 12.3-inch digital cockpit, an 8.4-inch information system, and a 9.1-inch passenger display. The Countach LPI 800-4’s interior is inspired by the Aventador and Sián FKP37, with a full digital meter paired with an 8.4-inch HDMI touchscreen.
The Revuelto is sold as a catalogue model with many back orders, but the Countach LPI 800-4, which revives Lamborghini’s iconic name as a limited edition model, has sold out all 112 units at the time of its announcement. What’s more, it’s hard to imagine how much the price has risen since it was 2.4 million euros (approximately 400 million yen) at the time of release.
The Countach LPI 800-4 has the allure of rarity, which is essential for a super sports car, but the newer Revuelto surpasses it in terms of the performance of its powertrain. It’s a bit of a stretch to compare the Countach LPI 800-4 to “sour grapes” that you can never get your hands on, but perhaps we should be fortunate to be able to get the latest hybrid super sports car at 1/6 the price.
