BMW Concept Speedtop
Concept Skytop and common design language

The BMW Concept Speedtop shares a common design language with the Concept Skytop (right), which was unveiled at last year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
BMW unveiled the design study “BMW Concept Speedtop” at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, an annual historic car and motorcycle event held on the shores of Lake Como, a picturesque Italian destination. The BMW Group says this elegant shooting brake will be sold as a limited-edition model.
The exterior shares the same design language as the Concept Skytop. The spacious interior provides the perfect space for a weekend getaway for two. High-quality materials, meticulous attention to detail, and the perfect harmony between the exterior and interior are the result of BMW’s renowned craftsmanship.
The power unit is the most powerful V8 engine in BMW’s lineup: a 4.4-liter V8 gasoline turbo that produces a maximum output of 633 PS (460 kW) and drives all four wheels via an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and the BMW xDrive system.
Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW Group Design Director, had this to say about the BMW Concept Speedtop:
“A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance, even when stationary. That is also true of our new concept car. The BMW Concept Speedtop is characterised first and foremost by its side view. We have featured Touring (station wagon) models from across the BMW range.”
A new interpretation of BMW Touring design

The beautiful lines that run from the hood to the roof and rear spoiler offer a new interpretation of the BMW Touring (station wagon).
The V-shaped front section, shark nose, thin and slim headlights and illuminated kidney grille give the BMW Concept Speedtop a strong presence. The central spline that runs from the bonnet to the roof and rear spoiler expresses the dynamic BMW Touring (wagon) style.
The dynamic design is accentuated by a massive shoulder section, while the roof features a color gradient that changes from “Floating Sunstone Maroon” to “Floating Sundown Silver.” The Concept Speed Top rides on two-tone 14-spoke wheels designed specifically for the car.
Interior that matches the exterior

To match the two-tone exterior, the interior is also finished in two-tone full leather.
The interior, which has been meticulously designed down to the smallest detail, incorporates luxurious leather trim and traditional brooke styling.
The two colors and materials create a strong connection between the exterior and interior, with the shimmering brown tones of the Floating Sunstone Maroon exterior carried over to the interior, where splines on the roof are reflected as ambient lighting on the two-tone leather headliner.
The luggage compartment is also covered in leather and features brogue-style perforations. Divided into two sections, the luggage compartment is beautifully illuminated by soft lighting and can accommodate two passengers’ luggage for a short trip of a few days.
A special bag made by Schedoni is provided

A special bag made by Schedoni is also available, which fits perfectly into the dedicated compartment behind the seats and the luggage space.
This time, the company has collaborated with Schedoni, a traditional Italian leather goods brand, to provide two spaces with leather straps behind the seats, which can hold two Schedoni custom-made bags.
The bag has been specially designed for the Concept Speedtop and can also fit a matching weekend bag in the trunk.
The exterior and interior were produced by specialists in the manufacturing workshops at the BMW Group’s Dingolfing plant.
