Vantage Roadster
The current SL, which was reborn as the seventh generation in 2021 as a Mercedes-AMG exclusive model, combines the long nose and short deck style inherited from the first generation with a soft top, which is making a comeback since the fourth-generation SL. The Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+ is equipped with a powerful V8 twin-turbo engine and the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, which can actively change the front/rear drive force distribution.
Aston Martin will redesign its rear-wheel drive two-seater sports car, the Vantage, in 2024, updating the interior and exterior. The Vantage Roadster will be the open version.
The SL 63 is 210mm longer than the Vantage Roadster, but the Vantage has a 75mm wider stance. The SL 63, which has an AWD system, is 135kg heavier.

Vantage Roadster
The interior of the SL 63, which celebrates the luxurious atmosphere typical of Mercedes, features a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a vertical 11.9-inch display, lavishly decorated with chrome and carbon fiber parts. The Vantage Roadster, which simply arranges two 10.25-inch TFT screens, is characterized by a simple yet meticulously crafted British-style high-quality appearance.
These two luxury open sports cars are both equipped with the same AMG 4.0-liter V8 engine and are priced at around 30 million yen in Japan. It is interesting to note that they both showcase the completely different personalities of “Germany” and “British,” including their exteriors, interiors, and driving performance.
Both offer comfortable interior space and are priced at roughly the same price, so you’re faced with a tough choice. If you’re looking for a Gran Turismo that cruises the highway without stress, then the SL63 is the way to go. For drivers who want to take advantage of the firm suspension and blaze through winding roads, the Vantage Roadster would be the perfect companion.
