Unreleased valuable design ideas also revealed

At this special seminar, Achim Anscheidt will talk about how the design proposal for the model that followed the Bugatti Veyron led to the Chiron.
The Lowe Collection, Germany’s national automobile museum, boasts one of the most diverse collections in Europe, with approximately 150 cars carefully selected from 135 years of automotive history. The museum will officially open in July 2023 and will feature a diverse collection that will include not only valuable racing cars and super sports cars, but also models that were unsuccessful in sales.
A panel discussion on Bugatti will be held at the Rowe Collection on November 8-9, 2024, featuring former Bugatti Design Director Achim Anscheidt, who will share his experience and knowledge about Bugatti’s historical development and design evolution.
This seminar will be held with the cooperation of Bugatti experts, including Anscheidt, and will delve into various themes related to Bugatti, including the influence that Ettore Bugatti’s famous maxim, “If it can be compared, it is no longer a Bugatti,” has had on Bugatti’s history.
With never-before-seen blueprints and photos of development models from 2004 to 2023, Anscheidt will look back at the development of the successor to the Veyron, revealing the path from over a dozen possible designs to the final Chiron design. He will also touch on the development of the recently announced new Tourbillon model.
Bugatti’s 120-year history

In addition to Anscheidt, CEO Mate Rimac will also be on stage to look back on Bugatti’s 120-year history, examining the models released in each era and their mark on history.
Other panel topics include “The artistic achievements of the Bugatti family,” “The future impact of AI on automotive design,” and “Can modern values such as AI be integrated with Bugatti’s traditional technical background?” There will also be lively discussions about Bugatti’s 120-year history.
The seminar will feature rare photographs of the interior of the Molsheim atelier, precious original letters, and actual blueprints. The section looking back on the brand’s 120-year history will cover the tragic background of the brand’s difficult period after World War II, the importance of the Schlumpf brothers’ Bugatti collection, the brand’s revival under Romano Artioli, the development of the W16 engine under Volkswagen, and the dawn of the modern Bugatti era.
Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, who will be appearing as a guest at this event, spoke about his enthusiasm for the special seminar as follows:
“Bugatti is an extraordinary brand. It was created, nurtured and developed by extraordinary people such as Ettore Bugatti, Jean Bugatti, Romano Artioli and Ferdinand Piëch. This special event will give us the opportunity to uncover many of these extraordinary stories, all supported by the precious Bugattis from the Rowe Collection.”
