From an independent manufacturer to a brand within the BMW Group

The Alpina brand under the Bovensiepen family will come to an end, and will begin a new chapter as BMW Alpina from January 1, 2026.

In March 2022, the BMW Group and ALPINA Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH + Co. signed a trademark purchase agreement for the ALPINA brand to ensure its long-term viability. As a result, production at ALPINA’s headquarters in Buchloe will come to an end at the end of 2025.

BMW Alpina will launch as a new brand within the BMW Group on January 1, 2026. In the initial phase, the focus will be on establishing and revitalizing the brand.

BMW ALPINA combines the highest level of performance with superior ride comfort in a unique balance, and adds to this the driving characteristics that are unique to ALPINA. Dedicated options, an exclusive lineup, and instantly recognizable details will further enhance the individuality of BMW ALPINA.

The BMW Group is deeply aware that Alpina is a brand with a rich history and is committed to meeting the expectations of its fans. The first step towards this goal is the unveiling of the new wordmark, which the company claims expresses clarity, composure and confidence. The wordmark is positioned at the rear centre of the vehicle, emphasizing the brand’s independence as a new, exclusive brand.

BMW ALPINA vehicles are manufactured to exacting standards, from the selection of materials to craftsmanship. They are perfected to meet the most stringent requirements in terms of sight, sound and touch. Customers also have access to a wide range of bespoke options. Each model is a special vehicle for enthusiasts who seek unique value and do not compromise on performance, comfort or individuality.
