BBS FL
The target is large heavy-duty SUVs and high-performance EVs

It was revealed at the Auto Salon two years ago and last year that the wheels were in development, and now this long-awaited new product has finally been unveiled. Fortega wheels have the same density and strength as aluminum, while boasting overwhelming rigidity that surpasses that of duralumin or magnesium. Due to these characteristics, they are targeted at heavy-duty SUVs and high-performance EVs. Therefore, they were displayed at the venue fitted to the Porsche Taycan, BMW iX3, and Lexus RX.
The name “Fortega” is a combination of the Italian words “forte,” meaning “strong,” and “lega,” meaning “alloy.” Compared to conventional aluminum alloys, it is said to be possible to achieve a weight reduction of approximately 10% while maintaining high rigidity. In the case of the BMW iX3, the unsprung weight is said to be reduced by approximately 22 kg compared to the standard. Incidentally, the development of this “FL” took approximately 10 years.
