Audi A5L
PPE’s first China-exclusive model, the Q6L e-tron

The Q6L e-tron is the first China-produced model developed based on the PPE jointly developed by Porsche and Audi.
At the Guangzhou Motor Show, Audi and its partner SAIC Motor Corporation (SAIC) unveiled three new models for the Chinese market. The fully electric crossover “Q6L e-tron” is the first model produced locally in China based on the “Premium Platform Electric (PPE)” jointly developed with Porsche.
The Q6L e-tron is scheduled to be produced exclusively for the Chinese market at Audi FAW NEV, a joint venture established by Audi and SAIC, from the end of December 2024. Not only does it have a longer wheelbase than the international-spec Q6 e-tron produced in Ingolstadt, Germany, but it also features a special design tailored to the preferences of Chinese customers.
The A5L’s dazzling exclusive exterior

Like the Q6L e-tron, the A5L has a long wheelbase. It features a dazzling exterior tailored to the Chinese market, including front and rear illumination rings.
At the Audi and SAIC booths, the A5L, the successor to the A4L, was also unveiled for the first time, along with the AUDI E Concept, a China-exclusive brand that was recently announced. Audi plans to continue developing models customized for the Chinese market in cooperation with its partner companies FAW and SAIC.
The A5L is an ICE-powered model that follows Audi’s new naming rule (fully electric models are even numbers, conventional ICE-powered models are odd numbers). Based on the new-generation internal combustion engine architecture “Premium Platform Combustion (PPC),” it features a longer wheelbase than the A5 and a dedicated design.
While maintaining the dynamic proportions of the new A5, the extended wheelbase has resulted in a spacious interior. Unique design elements, such as illuminated door mirrors and special “illumination rings” at the front and rear, have been added to create a more luxurious atmosphere.
