Stellantis Japan unveiled the Alfa Romeo brand’s compact crossover “Junior” for the first time in Japan. The Junior will be introduced into the B-segment, a segment that has been absent since the end of production of the compact hatchback “Mito.” The lineup will include a fully electric powertrain and a 48V mild hybrid model.
The compact body, measuring 4195mm long, 1780mm wide and 1585mm high, combines an attractive design that is instantly recognizable as an Alfa Romeo, compact yet excellent comfort, and the latest connectivity. The lineup includes two models: the 48V mild hybrid “Hybrida” and the fully electric powertrain “Elettrica.”
The Hybrida is a 48V mild hybrid that combines a 1.2-liter inline three-cylinder turbo engine with a 21kW electric motor and a 6-speed DCT. Meanwhile, the Elettrica is a state-of-the-art fully electric powertrain that combines a state-of-the-art motor with a latest-generation 54kWh battery. It has a range of 494km in the WLTP cycle. Using a 100kW DC fast charging station, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes. Both models are only available with FWD drivetrain, and it has not yet been decided whether an AWD model will be introduced in the lineup in the UK.
Traditional Alfa Romeo style

The exterior perfectly balances functional beauty with Alfa Romeo tradition, incorporating traditional styling elements such as the iconic Alfa Romeo shield grille, truncated overhangs, muscular wheel arches and the iconic taillight design of the legendary Giulia TZ.
While it features elaborate details such as triple adaptive full LED matrix headlights, it also maintains the simplicity expected of an Alfa Romeo.
In addition to the matte sports exterior with Brera Red accents, 18-inch alloy wheels are standard equipment. Inside, sporty and exclusive equipment is given, such as vinyl and fabric interior, leather steering wheel, and electric driver’s seat with massage function.
Sporty interior

The interior, made with the finest materials, incorporates Italian taste in every detail. At the heart of it all are the Sabelt sports seats and compact steering wheel. The instrument panel incorporates Alfa Romeo’s unique telescopic design, creating a sense of unity between the cockpit and passenger seat.
A fully digital 10.25-inch TFT screen is located in the center of the center cluster, providing access to vehicle data and various driving technologies. The air conditioning vents also feature Alfa Romeo’s iconic Quadrifoglio shape.
The largest luggage compartment in its class offers a maximum load capacity of 415 liters (400 liters for the Elettrica), and the BEV model will have a convenient compartment in the front bonnet for storing the charging cable.
