The BMW iX3 Neue Klasse prototype was first spotted in November 2023. The prototype at the time was fitted with temporary lighting units, but the latest body successfully photographed this time is equipped with production headlights and taillights. The diagonal LED daytime running lights (DRL), similar to those on the Vision Neue Klasse X, are clearly visible.

No Frank?

The doors feature flush door handles rather than the finned knobs seen on the Neue Klasse X. The production model will likely be available with wheels ranging from 18 to 22 inches, with the larger wheels likely reserved for the high-performance “M” model.

Furthermore, we have also obtained a photo with the hood open. It appears to contain mechanical parts, and although it is an EV iX3, it does not appear to have a trunk space (frunk).

Range over 800km?

It appears that development of the battery system is also underway, with the aim of achieving a range of 800 km per charge.

It appears that development of the battery system is also underway, with the aim of achieving a range of 800 km per charge.

The Neue Klasse platform is rumored to be compatible with single- and dual-motor systems, capable of producing between 300 and 600 PS. Furthermore, the new generation battery is said to have a 30% improvement in charging speed and efficiency. It is also said to be developed with a target range of over 800 km per charge.

The iX3 will be the first production vehicle to adopt the Neue Klasse design language, with production expected to begin in late 2025. The same design direction will then be applied to all vehicles, including those with internal combustion engines. The iX3 will likely be followed by the i3 Sedan, 3 Series, and the new-generation X5/iX5.

Will the next-generation BMW 3 Series electric car, the i3 Sedan, not feature the controversial oversized grille? [Scoop!]

The next-generation BMW 3 Series electric vehicle (EV) version, the i3 Neue Klasse sedan, has been spotted on camera for the first time. BMW plans to launch at least six fully electric models by 2028, with the i3 sedan being the most anticipated. It is scheduled to debut in 2026 after the iX3 SUV.
