Mercedes-Maybach GLS
“Three-pointed star” on front and rear lights

Due to the schedule for full electrification, it appears that a second facelift will be carried out to extend the life of the current model.

In addition to the DRLs at the front, the taillights also appear to have a star-shaped design.
The current second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLS (X167) was released in 2019, and the top-of-the-line Maybach version was introduced for the first time. The first facelift was performed in 2023, but it seems that a second major improvement will be made as the life of the current model will be extended in line with the timing of future full electrification.
The front incorporates star-shaped LED daytime running lights, similar to the new GLE prototype. While the GLE has them lined up on the left and right, the GLS/Maybach GLS has them stacked in two rows, differentiating it from the GLE.
The grille is completely camouflaged, but it is expected to have a three-pointed star-shaped dot pattern. The taillights have star-shaped LEDs with a different design from the headlights. The rear bumper will also be newly designed to match the front.
A luxurious interior

No images of the cabin were available, but it is likely to feature a luxurious, modern interior that is typical of Maybach.
The cabin will be fitted with a next-generation wide display called the End-to-End Hyperscreen, giving the car a new look that incorporates cutting-edge technology.
The Maybach GLS features a wood-trimmed partition separating the cabin from the luggage compartment, adding a touch of luxury. Other features include a folding rear table, a rear refrigerator, and silver-plated champagne glasses.
Will there be an upgrade to the power unit?

The power unit is expected to be the same as the current model, but there is a possibility that performance will be improved.
Under the hood, the power unit will be the familiar 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with a mild hybrid system. The current model has a maximum output of 558 PS and a maximum torque of 729 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 96 km/h in 4.8 seconds, but there is a possibility that performance will be slightly improved. The world premiere of the new GLS and Maybach GLS is expected to be sometime in 2025.
