Bergman’s beloved Ferrari also makes an appearance

A 1952 Ferrari 212 Europa Pininfarina Coupe, once owned by Ingrid Bergman, best known for her roles in films such as “Casablanca.”
A must-see for collectors seeking a car with an incredible story: the 1952 Ferrari 212 Europa Pininfarina Coupe, estimated at CHF 800,000-1,000,000. The story of chassis number 0265 EU is inseparable from the famous romance between Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and Italian film director Roberto Rossellini.
In April 1951, Bergman and Rossellini visited the Turin Auto Show, where Rossellini promised Bergman that he would purchase a coupe. Bergman appointed Pininfarina as the coachbuilder. Before delivery, Ferrari exhibited this car at the 23rd Geneva Motor Show, and its understated two-tone appearance is said to have heralded the arrival of a new design language for Maranello road cars.
Subsequent owners include American film director Clarence Leon Brown (producer of films such as “The Last of the Mohicans”). This particular car was exhibited at the Ferrari Museum in Modena from February 2020 to March 2021. It was then sent to Ferrari Classiche, where it was issued a Red Book certificate. It also comes with complete production records from Maranello and a file showing the car’s ownership history, as well as its concours awards at Pebble Beach and Villa d’Este, and its participation in the Mille Miglia.
