Ford will supply new power units to F1’s Red Bull Racing from the 2026 season. Red Bull and Ford will also deepen their cooperation in supporting female drivers.

The F1 Academy, a program established in 2024 to develop female F1 drivers, currently hosts seven races as support races for F1, with five teams participating, including the Red Bull Ford Academy Program. Ford, which plans to supply power units to Red Bull Racing from the 2026 season, continues its efforts to increase diversity in motorsports and has decided to continue supporting the Red Bull Academy Program, which is part of the F1 Academy. While the Red Bull Academy Program places a focus on developing female drivers, this continued partnership also aims to provide more opportunities for young drivers in motorsports, including F1.

“F1 Academy drivers are limited to a two-year commitment. The Red Bull Ford Academy program for the 2024 season is supporting Dutch driver Emery de Hughes. Red Bull Racing Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner commented on the continued collaboration with Ford:

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Ford as title sponsor of the Red Bull Academy program, further strengthening their commitment to female participation in motorsport, and everyone at the team looks forward to welcoming Chloe to the team for the 2025 F1 Academy season.”

“Adding an American driver to the team further deepens our partnership with Ford Performance. Red Bull and Ford share similar values and are united in our commitment to providing ample opportunities for young talent in motorsport. We can’t wait to see Chloe take to the track in Red Bull Ford colours in 2025.”

With the support of Red Bull and Ford, Chloe Chambers has been selected to compete in the IMSA Mustang Challenge 2024, which will be held this weekend.

The Red Bull Ford Academy program will support Chloe Chambers, an American citizen, for the 2025 season. She was born in China on June 14, 2004, and later adopted to the United States. She will compete in the F1 Academy with Campos Racing in 2024, and has extensive experience in single-seater racing, including the US F4 and W Series.

Ford Performance, which oversees motorsports activities, is currently working with the FIA and race promoters to explore ways to increase the inclusion of female drivers at all levels of motorsports. As part of this effort, Chambers will compete in the final round of the IMSA Mustang Challenge 2024, held in conjunction with the SRO Indianapolis 8 Hours. In the Mustang Challenge, she will drive a Mustang Dark Horse R in Red Bull livery.

Chambers, who now has the backing of such big names as Red Bull and Ford, expressed his delight:

“I am thrilled to be racing as part of the Red Bull Ford Academy program in the 2025 season. As an American driver, it is a true honor to team up with such an iconic American automaker as Ford.”

“It is a great privilege to join the Red Bull Ford Academy program and continue my work to advance the visibility of women in motorsport, and I am incredibly grateful for the support they have given me to achieve my motorsport goals.”

“I’m also looking forward to taking part in the Ford Mustang Challenge and hope to have more opportunities to compete in various races outside of the F1 Academy. For the remainder of this season I will be focused on my performance with Haas, but I look forward to embarking on the next phase of my career with the Red Bull Ford Academy program in 2025.”

Following Honda's withdrawal from F1, Red Bull has signed a partnership with Ford. Attending the announcement were, from left, Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, CEO Jim Farley, team principal Christian Horner, and reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo.
