Renault 4 E-Tech electric
Developed to be practical and usable

The Renault 4 E-Tech Electric is based on the AmpR Small and has a compact size, but it offers ample interior and luggage space. Renault is proud to say that it has created an EV that can be used for any purpose.
At the 2022 Paris Motor Show, Renault unveiled the 4EVER Trophy, a design concept reminiscent of the former “4 (Quatre),” declaring the revival of the charismatically popular French compact car. Along with the 4EVER Trophy, the show also marks the world premiere of the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric, a fully electric crossover.
The Renault 4 E-Tech Electric inherits the DNA of the original Quatre and has been developed as a multi-purpose compact car with modern interiors, exteriors, and equipment. Equipped with the latest fully electric powertrain and incorporating the latest connected functions, it joins Renault’s EV lineup as a fully electric model that is not only suitable as a commuter vehicle in urban areas, but also closely integrated into everyday life.
The funky exterior, reminiscent of a quatre, is combined with the optional canvas roof “Plein Sud” to create a modern yet bold retro-future design. The interior’s modular layout introduces a folding passenger seat, a first for a Renault EV, and also secures a large luggage space of 420L.
Two electric powertrain options available

The car is based on the AmpR Small fully electric platform developed by the Renault Group, and is available with two powertrains, the Comfort Range and the Urban Range, which differ in output and range.
Like the previously released Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric is based on the AmpR Small, a fully electric platform for compact cars developed by the Renault Group. Economies of scale have made it possible to achieve a reasonable price.
The “Comfort Range” powertrain has a maximum output of 152 PS, maximum torque of 245 Nm, a 52 kWh lithium-ion battery, and a maximum range of 400 km. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 8.5 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 150 km/h. The “Urban Range” powertrain, specialized for urban travel, has a maximum output of 121 PS, maximum torque of 225 Nm, a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery, and a maximum range of 300 km.
Fabrice Cambolib, CEO of Groupe Renault, added the following about the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric:
“Renault is expanding its EV range in the European market, and the launch of the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric will further accelerate this momentum. We have introduced electric models such as the Mégane, Scénic and the new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, but our range has lacked a practical compact car.”
“The versatile and functional Renault 4 E-Tech Electric has a large, easy-to-load luggage space, making it a vehicle that meets a variety of everyday needs. It also comes equipped with a host of convenient technologies to enhance driving and comfort. This is truly the EV that our times have called for.”
Retro and modern exterior

The exterior incorporates modern updated design elements reminiscent of the original Quatre, such as the front and rear lights, grille, and window treatments.
As a compact crossover launched in the B-segment, the car’s overall length is 4140mm, 90mm shorter than the Clio and 90mm longer than the Captur. The 2620mm wheelbase ensures ample interior space. The overall width is 1800mm, and the overall height is 1570mm, the same as the Captur.
While reviving the name of Renault’s iconic compact car, the “4 (Quatre),” the design is not simply nostalgic. The exterior has retro-futuristic lines reminiscent of the Quatre, but also has the stylish, modern look of a fully electric model.
The grille, laid out in the center of the front section, is strongly inspired by the Quatre, with light bars placed around it. The 1,450mm long integrated light bar is the first technology to be introduced in a commercially available passenger car. The side quarter windows are also a design element reminiscent of the first-generation Quatre. The roof is fitted with roof rails, a requirement for modern crossovers.
The rear section features a vertical three-part LED light unit reminiscent of the capsule-type taillights of the Quatre. In addition to the compact taillight unit, the tailgate has been extended to the bottom of the bumper, just like the original Quatre, creating a large opening and a low floor.
Modular layout for any application

The interior features a modular layout that can be used for a variety of purposes, with the passenger seat and rear bench seat folding down.
The cockpit features a 10.1-inch digital instrument panel (7-inch for the entry-level model) behind the steering wheel. This large display shows all driving-related information. In the center is a 10-inch multimedia screen equipped with Google’s OpenR Link system. The OpenR Link multimedia system will be automatically updated continuously over the next few years.
The interior features a modular layout. A foldable bench seat is used in the rear, and by tilting the passenger seat forward, the seat layout can be freely changed to suit the purpose and cargo. The luggage space has a capacity of 420L under normal conditions, and can accommodate items up to 2200mm long by folding the seats. Large trunks and skis can also be easily loaded.
The long wheelbase of 2620mm provides 164mm of knee space in the second row and 853mm of headroom, which is comparable to the Captur. The backs of the front seats have map pockets and cell phone pockets, a storage space for water bottles at the rear of the console, and two USB-C sockets at the top of the console.
