Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH

Over 12,500 km of testing

The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH continues to undergo testing while sporting a camouflage-style livery.

The Valkyrie AMR-LMH took part in the official WEC tire test in November and has already clocked up a mileage of over 12,500 km.

Aston Martin Heart of Racing Team (Aston Martin THOR Team), which has declared its return to the World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the aim of winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time since 1959, has announced the two drivers who will drive the Valkyrie AMR-LMH in the 2025 WEC: Alex Riberas and Harry Tincknell.

The two have experience driving Aston Martins and have participated in many races, and have also played an important role in the development testing of the Valkyrie AMR-LMH, which has been ongoing since the summer of 2024.

The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is fitted with a carbon fibre chassis and a 6.5-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine, making it the only Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) specification car to compete in both the WEC and IMSA. The Aston Martin THOR team has designated the numbers “007” and “009” for its WEC cars.

The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is scheduled to make its WEC debut at the Qatar 1,812km Race, with the final race taking place from February 26th to 28th, 2025. In addition to the WEC, the car will also compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, held in North America, and is scheduled to compete in the opening race, the 12 Hours of Sebring, from March 12th to 14th.

The Valkyrie AMR-LMH has successfully completed a test and development program, including a Michelin-sponsored tyre test after the final WEC race in early November and last weekend’s IMSA sanctions test at Daytona, covering more than 12,500 km to date and due to conclude shortly.

Tincknell returns to Aston Martin

Harry Tincknell, who won the LMGTE Pro class at the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans, is returning to Aston Martin for the first time in four years.

Harry Tincknell returns to Aston Martin after a four-year absence. The British driver, driving the Aston Martin Vantage GTE, won the LMGTE Pro class at the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans alongside Alex Lynn and Maxime Martin.

In the 2025 season, Tincknell will be behind the wheel of the Valkyrie AMR-LMH No. 007. Following his decision to compete in the top WEC category, Tincknell expressed his enthusiasm:

“This is a long-held dream come true for me and I am honoured to be returning to Aston Martin for the Valkyrie project. With its stunning looks and the incredible sound of its V12 engine, I believe the Valkyrie will be a firm favourite with fans. The early development testing has been very exciting and the Aston Martin DNA is very much present.”

“I am extremely proud of all the hard work we have put in to prepare for our first race. The whole Aston Martin THOR team has made me feel very welcome and I truly feel part of a professional team. Aston Martin has a great history in sports car racing and of course I have great memories of Le Mans in 2020 and my aim will be to repeat that achievement with the Valkyrie.”

Liberace, a native of Heart of Racing

Alex Riberas has been racing for over 10 years at Heart of Racing, which is responsible for Aston Martin's WEC hypercar program, and the 2025 season will see him compete in the top category for the first time.
