Audi Q5 Sportback
Combines SUV versatility with coupe style

The “Sportback” that first appeared in the second-generation Q5 has evolved into its second generation. It retains a sleek coupe style with a slanted hatch gate, while still providing ample luggage space.
The new Audi Q5 Sportback and SQ5 Sportback combine the versatility and spaciousness of an SUV with the dynamic silhouette of a coupe. Their distinctive design, with its sloping tailgate and elegant lines, emphasizes their sportiness.
The Q5 Sportback has a maximum luggage capacity of 515 L, while the SQ5 Sportback has a maximum luggage capacity of 470 L. By folding down the rear seats, the luggage capacity can be expanded to 1415 L for the Q5 Sportback and 1388 L for the SQ5 Sportback. The Q5 Sportback also has a towing capacity of up to 2400 kg.
Exterior featuring the latest Audi design

The new Q5 Sportback combines the sporty coupe-SUV style with the latest Audi design, featuring a high-positioned single frame and sharp, thin headlights.
The design of the new Q5 Sportback is sharp and sophisticated, showcasing the latest Audi design: the wide Singleframe is positioned high, flanked by functional vertical air curtains and combined with sharply sculpted headlights.
A large air intake is located below the single frame, housing various sensors. Dynamic lines run from the top of the rocker panel across the wheel arches to the rear bumper, creating a design that exudes dynamism even when the car is stationary.
The horizontal shoulder line connecting the front and rear lights rises slightly above the taillights and, together with the flat rear window, visually supports the roof arch. Optional roof rails add practicality to the dynamic roofline, while the elegant rear window graphic also creates a visually wider cabin.
The rear section is finished off sharply with minimalist lines. A smooth surface runs from the rear window to the bottom edge of the sculptural light strip, bordered by a sharp cut across the entire width. The diffuser is integrated high into the bumper, creating an aerodynamic island effect around the rear. Below it are the tailpipes, which in the SQ5 are twin round tailpipes.
An advanced cockpit with a large display

The interior actively incorporates sustainable materials, and the cockpit is equipped with the Audi MMMI panoramic display and MMI passenger display.
The interior has been meticulously designed to meet the needs of modern passengers. Like the exterior, it incorporates the latest Audi design concepts. The cockpit forms a digital stage with the Audi MMMI panoramic display and the MMI passenger display.
The contrasting design places various components in the foreground or background, creating a three-dimensional spatial architecture that seamlessly blends aesthetics and ergonomics, providing a comfortable living space for all passengers.
The “soft wrap” extends from the doors through the entire cockpit and to the center console, creating a unified and warm space. Sustainable materials are also actively used, and the seat upholstery is made from recycled polyester, such as Cascade and Dinamica microfiber.
Combining the latest ICE with a 48V mild hybrid

At the time of sale in Europe, the lineup will include three power units: a 2.0-liter inline-four turbo petrol engine, a 2.0-liter inline-four turbo diesel engine, and the SQ5 Sportback’s 3.0-liter V6 turbo petrol engine. A PHEV is also planned for the future.
The new Q5 Sportback is based on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture for longitudinally mounted internal combustion engines (ICE). At market launch, all models will be equipped with the highly efficient 48V mild hybrid system MHEV plus technology as standard.
The newly developed 48V “MHEV plus” electric system supports the ICE, reducing emissions, improving performance, and providing a comfortable driving experience. It also enables limited all-electric driving and parking. The newly developed powertrain generator (PTG) produces a maximum of 18kW (24PS) and 230Nm. Furthermore, the 48V system enables the use of an electric air compressor, which keeps the air conditioner running even when the engine is off (such as when coasting or waiting at traffic lights), maintaining a comfortable interior temperature.
The lithium-ion battery in MHEV plus models is based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and has a capacity of 1.7 kWh. A belt alternator starter (BAS) starts the engine and supplies power to the battery. The BAS enables electric driving, reducing the load on the ICE and contributing to reduced fuel consumption. During braking, the BAS can recharge up to 25 kW of power to the battery.
The Q5 Sportback will be available in Europe with three engines, with more drivetrain options planned for the future. Initially, all versions will be equipped with the MHEV plus transmission, mated to the S tronic 7-speed DCT.
The entry-level model is equipped with a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder TFSI turbo gasoline engine that delivers a maximum output of 150 kW (204 PS) and a maximum torque of 340 Nm. Front-wheel drive (FWD) and the optional quattro all-wheel drive system (AWD) are available. The 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder TDI turbo diesel engine with a maximum output of 150 kW (204 PS) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm is only available with the quattro model. The top model in the series, the SQ5 Sportback, is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI turbo gasoline engine that delivers a maximum output of 270 kW (367 PS) and a maximum torque of 550 Nm.
Later in the Q5 Sportback’s lifecycle, a plug-in hybrid version with an external charger and high-capacity battery is also planned.
