Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
Final verification for December delivery

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, which had its world premiere in September 2023, is scheduled for its first delivery in late December 2024, and this test will be the final validation test to conclude the development program.
Alfa Romeo’s development team has carried out driving dynamics testing of the 33 Stradale 00 prototype at the Nardo Technical Center (NTC), completing intensive test sessions to verify its performance during sustained driving at top speed levels.
The test team will closely monitor dynamic parameters such as aerodynamics, top speed, maximum temperature, cooling system and cabin acoustics, all ahead of first customer deliveries scheduled for late December 2024 in Italy.
The Nardo Technical Center is one of the most advanced test and experiment centers in the world. Located in Salento, Puglia, southern Italy, it is home to many automotive brands. Built by Fiat in 1975, the test site covers 700 hectares of land dotted with forest and Mediterranean shrub, and boasts 20 test tracks capable of conducting all levels of testing.
The Nardo Ring, a circular track with a diameter of 4km and a total length of 12.6km, is said to be the fastest high-speed test track in the world, and allows different inclinations and relative compensation speeds to be set on all four axles. The smoothly banked shape gives the driver the feeling of driving on an endless straight when driven at speeds that balance centrifugal forces.
Testing at Barocco ahead of Nardo

Prior to the high-speed driving tests conducted in Nardo, the Barocco Test Centre was used to verify the car’s handling and braking at low and medium speeds.
Inspired by the historic Tipo 33 Stradale, which debuted in 1967, the 33 Stradale’s sculptural form was developed by Alfa Romeo engineers to deliver the ultimate in aerodynamics.
The Alfa Romeo development team conducted top speed tests on the 33 Stradale at the Nardo Ring, verifying the target top speed of 333 km/h and acceleration performance of 0-100 km/h in under three seconds. Furthermore, repeated driving tests focused on the car’s balance, braking system, and handling during high-speed driving.
The 33 Stradale is available with two powertrains: the internal combustion (ICE) model is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine mounted longitudinally in the rear mid-mounted position, producing a maximum output of 628 PS, and driving the rear wheels via an 8-speed DCT. The BEV model is an AWD with three electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles, ensuring a maximum output of 760 PS and a range of 450 km. The ICE model was brought for this high-speed test.
A few weeks prior to Nardo, the car underwent extensive testing at the Barocco Test Centre in Vercelli, focusing on low and medium speed ranges, to thoroughly evaluate and verify the precision of the steering system, the responsiveness of the braking system, and the handling, which is made up of an aluminium H-frame, a carbon fibre monocoque and a sophisticated suspension system.
