Service will begin in Japan in the summer of 2025

Through this collaboration, people in Japan, the US, Germany, the UK and Ireland will be able to enjoy films such as “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in vehicles equipped with the latest version of MBUX.
Starting in the summer of 2025, Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with the latest MBUX technology will be able to enjoy an immersive in-car entertainment experience, delivering the latest IMAX movies from Sony Pictures’ library, including “Venom: The Last Dance,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” and “Uncharted.”
RIDEVU, developed by SPE, is the only way to experience the powerful image and sound of IMAX movies outside of the theater. RIDEVU offers a carefully selected lineup of IMAX movies in multiple dubbed languages, including the original audio, on MBUX. The RIDEVU service is available in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Germany, and allows customers to purchase or rent thousands of movies and stream them in their cars.
Developed specifically for in-car entertainment, RIDEVU combines Sony Pictures movies with advanced streaming technology to deliver an unprecedented in-car entertainment experience. Content is accessible to front and rear passengers, as well as the driver when the vehicle is parked.
“This unique collaboration leverages the strengths of three entertainment pioneers – SPE, IMAX and DTS – to realize a long-held shared vision of creating highly personalized, high-quality content experiences at home and on the go,” said Magnus Østberg, Chief Software Officer at Mercedes-Benz AG.
“The addition of IMAX and DTS audio capabilities to Sony Pictures Entertainment’s RIDEVU will add an exciting new experience to movie-watching in Mercedes-Benz vehicles,” said Tom Hilfiger, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz. “Mercedes-Benz’s large HD displays will fill the cockpit with cinema-quality vibrant colors and immersive sound, providing our customers with the best seats in the house.”
