Aston Martin Vantage Roadster
The long-awaited open-top version of the new Vantage

The Vantage Roadster offers the same performance as the previously released Vantage, plus the highest level of open-air driving.
The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is equipped with the same Mercedes-AMG 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine as the coupe, which produces a maximum output of 665 PS and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The coupe’s class-leading performance and dynamic driving experience have all been carried over, with the added appeal of an open-air driving experience providing a sense of freedom and thrill.
The Vantage Roadster offers all the exhilarating style, freedom and adventure of an open-top car, but without the design constraints of a traditional convertible. The beautiful soft-top adds minimal weight to the coupe, and it also introduces the industry’s fastest fully automatic roof system.
2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the launch of the V8 Vantage in 2005. As the first “modern” Aston Martin built in Gaydon, England, the V8 Vantage was the first model to bear the name, and the first Vantage to be released as a standalone model rather than a derivative. A roadster version was added a year later.
Commenting on the launch of the Vantage Roadster, Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Adrian Hallmark said:
“The new Vantage Coupe’s technical and dynamic capabilities far surpass those of its predecessor, making it the best sports car in its class. The Vantage Roadster offers all the benefits of the Coupe, but our development team has worked hard to deliver a comfortable open-air driving experience without compromising on refinement or performance.”
4.0-liter V8 turbo with 155 PS more than the previous model

The Vantage Roadster’s 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine produces a maximum output of 665 PS, an increase of 155 PS from the previous model.
The Vantage Roadster has retained the driving dynamics of the Coupe thanks to the fact that the two cars were designed and developed simultaneously. The Vantage Roadster itself was developed independently, with the development team concentrating on delivering exceptional features and characteristics without compromising performance, ride comfort, handling or excessive additional weight.
Aston Martin’s 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine has a larger turbocharger than the previous Vantage Roadster. By revising the camshaft profile and optimizing the compression ratio, power output has increased by 155 PS and torque by 115 Nm.
It produces a maximum output of 665 PS and a maximum torque of 800 Nm, and this immense power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled limited slip differential. And even with an open top, it achieves impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 323 km/h (202 mph).
With its stiff, lightweight aluminium structure, composite body panels and well-balanced front/rear weight distribution (49:51), the Vantage Roadster provides an ideal platform for its suspension: motorsport-derived unequal-length double wishbones at the front and multi-link at the rear, mated to specially tuned Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers.
The car is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport S5 tyres, specially developed by Michelin and specially formulated by Aston Martin to suit the Vantage. These tyres provide excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions, as well as excellent ride and steering feel.
“Z-fold” roof that can be opened or closed in 6.8 seconds

The roof is not the “K-fold” type used on many convertible models, but a lightweight “Z-fold” roof that can be deployed quickly and can be opened or closed in just 6.8 seconds.
From the early stages of development, two targets were set for the Vantage Roadster’s body structure: first, to make the Roadster as light as possible compared to the Vantage Coupe, and second, to maintain a high level of structural rigidity for an open-top model.
To achieve this, the structure and overall load paths of the body were carefully examined, and the mounting methods at the rear of the vehicle were revised to achieve higher rigidity than the coupe. Furthermore, to offset the reduced rigidity levels inherent in open-top models, weight-optimized shear panels were strategically placed, resulting in a structure that is even more laterally rigid than the coupe.
The roof features a “Z-fold” design that is lighter and deploys faster than the conventional “K-fold” roof. The tonneau cover has been eliminated, resulting in a lighter weight and a lower center of gravity. The roof can be opened or closed at speeds up to 50 km/h, and takes just 6.8 seconds, making it the fastest of any vehicle currently on the market equipped with an automatic roof. Furthermore, the roof can be operated from the driver’s seat, as long as the driver is within a two-meter radius of the car, or remotely using the key.
The roof is made up of eight layers of insulation, ensuring that the interior noise level with the roof up is as quiet as that of the Vantage Coupe. The adoption of a Z-fold roof also makes it simpler and lighter, with a weight increase of just 60kg over the Coupe. Rollover protection has also been carefully optimized to achieve both strength and weight reduction. The highly safe aluminum Rollover Protection System (ROPS) has been introduced.
Simon Newton, Aston Martin’s Director of Vehicle Performance, explained the overall body structure of the Vantage Roadster:
“By developing the Vantage Coupe and Vantage Roadster simultaneously, we have been able to maintain the Vantage’s incredible driving dynamics and agile sportiness in the open-top model without compromise. This has been achieved through meticulous optimisation of the body structure and bespoke chassis tuning by our expert dynamics team.”
10.25-inch display in the cockpit

At the centre of the cockpit is a 10.25-inch pure black touchscreen, which forms the core of Aston Martin’s proprietary infotainment system.
The cockpit is fitted with Aston Martin’s next-generation infotainment system, as seen in the Vantage Coupe. Developed in-house from the ground up and first introduced in the DB12, the integrated multi-screen system with online connectivity features a 10.25-inch pure black touchscreen.
In addition to the touchscreen, a balanced number of switches have been retained for mechanical controls such as gear changes, drive mode selection, heating, cooling and ventilation, while frequently used controls such as chassis, ESP, exhaust, active safety system settings and park distance control can be operated intuitively without taking your eyes off the road.
In terms of sound, an Aston Martin 390w 11-speaker audio system comes as standard. Customers who are particular about their music experience while driving can choose a sound system developed in collaboration with audio partner Bowers & Wilkins. This system has been acoustically engineered to suit the interior volume and shape of the Vantage Roadster and is equipped with the latest Bowers & Wilkins speaker system.
The Vantage Roadster adds three new color variations: Iridescent Sapphire, Satin Iridescent Sapphire, and Bronze Flare. The roof can be chosen from black, red, blue, or black and silver. Four 21-inch wheel designs are available, and seven brake caliper colors are also available.
