AUDI A7 allroad

“A6 Allroad” renamed “A7 Allroad”

The Allroad will be added to the A7, which until now was only available as a Sportback.

The A7, which until now only had the Sportback model, will now be joined by the Allroad.

The first generation of the Audi A7 was released in 2010, and the current second-generation model has been on sale since 2018. Until now, the A7 was only available as a five-door “Sportback,” but the next model will feature a crossover “Allroad.” Under Audi’s new naming strategy, models with even numbers in their names are assigned to electric vehicles, and odd numbers are assigned to engine-powered vehicles. Therefore, the previous “A6 Allroad” will be inherited by the A7.

The all-road-like fender extensions are still in place

The A7 Allroad is equipped with a lifted body, large fender extensions, and a sturdy front grille and side skirts, giving it the impression of a powerful design suited to off-road driving.

Vertical air intakes can be seen on both ends of the front bumper. The headlights appear to have a conventional design, rather than the split type seen on the A6 e-tron. The taillights feature boomerang-shaped light clusters, which are thought to differentiate them from the A6. These are connected by a slim horizontal illumination bar, a design shared with the A6.

Electric powertrains become standard

Electric assist is likely to become standard across the board, even though it's an odd-numbered model equipped with an ICE engine.

The production model will use an updated version of the MLB platform, known as PPC (Premium Platform Combustion). Powerplants will vary by market, but we expect the A7 Allroad to come standard with mild-hybrid technology. Turbocharged V6 gasoline and diesel engines will also be available. A plug-in hybrid model is also likely.

The new A7 will first be available in the Avant sedan and station wagon versions, with the Allroad expected to arrive later, likely in late 2025 or early 2026.

The next-generation Audi A7 family was captured undergoing cold-weather testing near the Arctic Circle.

Next-generation Audi A7 family gathers for Arctic cold weather testing: “Will there be various types available?” [Scoop!]

As part of Audi’s ongoing model name changes, the internal combustion engine A6 will be renamed the “Audi A7” after the model change. The next-generation A7 has been spotted undergoing cold weather testing near the Arctic Circle. The car comes in a sedan, a station wagon called the “Avant,” the crossover “Allroad Quattoro,” and the high-performance “S7” and “RS 7” variants. All of these appear to have been brought to the test.
