1948 Ferrari 166 Inter Sport Corsa
A valuable racing car from Ferrari’s early days
The 166 Intersport Corsa, manufactured by Ferrari immediately after the war, was equipped with a 2.0-liter V12 engine and competed in various racing events, including the Targa Florio.
Broad Arrow Auctions, one of the world’s leading collector car auction houses, was founded in 2021 but has been appointed as the official auction house for the inaugural Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este auction, which will be held in 2025.
The highlight of this auction, offered by Broad Arrow Auctions, is a 1948 Ferrari 166 Intersport Corsa with beautiful coachwork by Carrozzeria Ansaloni. Chassis number 004 C is one of two cars purchased by the Besana brothers, early Ferrari customers, and finished sixth overall in the 1948 Targa Florio. Its estimated value is between 5.5 and 7.5 million euros (approximately 885 million to 1.2 billion yen).
Equipped with the original body and chassis, 2.0-liter V12 engine and 5-speed racing gearbox, it is Ferrari Classiche White Book certified and comes with extensive documentation documenting its 50 years of family ownership and its impressive track record from 1965 to 2015.
Numerous awards at the Concours d’Elegance
Chassis number 004 C has won numerous awards, including the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, due to its excellent condition.
The car has won numerous awards at concours d’elegance, including the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2004, and was also exhibited at Casa Ferrari (Ferrari’s official booth) at Pebble Beach in 2019 and 2022.

As the official auction partner of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, Broad Arrow Auctions has partnered with BMW to host its first-ever European auction. The auction, held at the historic car event on the shores of Lake Como in Italy, will feature 70 top-quality collector cars. Thomas Forrester, one of the world’s most accomplished auctioneers, has also been confirmed to participate.
