The EV and engine-equipped models have almost the same appearance

It is said that there will be only slight differences in appearance between the EV and ICE models.

It is said that there will be only slight differences in appearance between the EV and ICE models.

A prototype of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz CLA EV spotted in Germany has been stripped of much of its camouflage, revealing the final design. Mercedes says the ICE and EV versions will have almost identical appearances, with only minor differences in the front grille and tailpipes. It’s likely that the tailpipes will be hidden under the bumper on models with engines other than AMG.

Star-shaped DRLs also available on the CLA

The next-generation CLA will also likely feature a star-shaped design for its DRLs and taillights.

The next-generation CLA will also likely feature a star-shaped design for its DRLs and taillights.

The next-generation model features immediately noticeable changes, such as streamlined bodywork and flush-mounted door handles. The cabin has also been completely redesigned, with the current model’s small quarter windows extending to the rear doors now reaching the rear fenders, giving the impression of elongation. The front is equipped with star-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a symbol of Mercedes’ future, as well as an evolved single-bar grille and a new bumper.

Will the EV version be released this year?

The mass-produced CLA, both its engine-powered and EV models, will use a new platform called MMA (Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture), and will debut as the first of an all-new “entry luxury” model.

For the BEV version, the platform will use an 800V electrical system with DC fast charging capability up to 320kW. Two battery options will be available: 58kWh and 85kWh. Two powerplants are also expected: a single-motor version with a maximum output of 272PS, and a 4Matic version with an additional 109PS motor at the front. The second motor will have a “boost” function that kicks in when extra power or traction is needed, rumored to produce a combined maximum output of around 380PS.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is expected to undergo a minor change as early as spring.

Will the Mercedes-Benz C-Class undergo a major overhaul this spring? Could the V8 engine be revived? [Scoop!]

It has been revealed that Mercedes-Benz’s flagship model, the C-Class, will undergo major improvements. The scoop photos give us a glimpse of the evolution. This will be the first major improvement for the current model, which debuted in 2021. The company will retain the engine-equipped model in this minor change, and it appears that it plans to launch fully electric versions of the C-Class and GLC in 2026.
