The Volkswagen Tiguan has undergone a full model change, with a new platform and an evolved version called the MQB evo. The Audi Q3, which is positioned as a premium model within the group, will remain on the MQB platform as before.
However, even though it has evolved, it is still an improved version of the MQB. It has the same wheelbase as its sister car, the Q3, and there is not much difference in knee room in the rear seats. However, the Tiguan, which is 45mm taller, has more headroom and is more comfortable in the rear seats.
The Tiguan has also undergone a dramatic transformation with an advanced interior and exterior design, and many new features have been added. In contrast, the Q3’s improvements are limited to the addition of a new diesel engine and minor changes to the interior and exterior design. It can be said that the new Tiguan is one step closer to its big brother, the Q3.

Both gasoline models are equipped with the same 1.5-liter inline-four gasoline turbo engine and 48V mild hybrid system, and are identical in terms of displacement and engine output. The transmissions are also different names, but the basic structure is the same: dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
However, the Tiguan’s engine control has been revised to increase the frequency of cylinder deactivation, resulting in better fuel economy of 15.6km/L compared to the Q3’s 14.4km/L. This improvement in fuel economy is likely due in large part to the reduction in air resistance of the body.

Attention to the evolution of the new Tiguan’s design and functionality

Audi Q3
Even with all these significant improvements, the Tiguan is cheaper. However, if you choose the higher trim levels, the price will skyrocket with the addition of many luxurious new features, making it more expensive than the Q3, which is inherently a higher-class car.
The Tiguan has undergone significant evolution, but the premium brand Audi Q3 is likely to be superior in areas not reflected in the spec sheet, such as quietness and ride quality. However, you should be able to fully experience the evolution of the Tiguan’s design and functionality even with the lowest-priced “eTSI Active” model.
