It has become the Mercedes model of choice for Japanese customers.

The GLC 220 d Core and GLC 220 d Coupe Core being introduced in Japan this time are based on the GLC 220 d 4MATIC and GLC 220 d 4MATIC Coupe, which will go on sale from 2023, with revised standard equipment and a simplified option configuration. While retaining core values such as a clean diesel engine with excellent fuel economy and torque, and the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, these models are now more reasonably priced.

In addition to a spacious interior that can accommodate five passengers, the GLC 220 d Core has a generous luggage space of 620 to 1,680 liters, while the GLC 220 d Coupe Core has a generous luggage space of 545 to 1,490 liters. With a minimum turning radius of 5.5 meters, the GLC 220 d is a mid-size SUV that is ideal for Japanese road conditions.

The standard exterior is the same as the base GLC 220 d/GLC 220 d Coupe, and the body colors are the three popular standard colors: Polar White (Solid), Obsidian Black (Metallic), and High Tech Silver (Metallic). The AMG Line Package, which provides a sportier exterior, is also available as an option.

The AMG Line Package is a popular option package that includes a star pattern grille with a three-pointed star that creates a unique look, a front bumper with a large opening, sports seats, a genuine leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, etc. The GLC is also equipped with 20-inch multi-spoke aluminum wheels, a first for the GLC.

The powertrain is equipped with a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder “OM654M” diesel turbo, which produces a maximum output of 197 PS (145 kW) and a maximum torque of 440 Nm on its own. The “ISG” located between the engine and transmission provides a maximum boost of 23 PS (17 kW) and 205 Nm for a short period of time. The

combination of the high-torque, fuel-efficient clean diesel engine with precise electrical support is said to achieve smooth acceleration and high efficiency.
