Lamborghini REVUELTO

A deep navy that looks like black at first glance

The word “Egaeru” first came into use around 2017. This new word, which quickly gained recognition with the spread of social media, is now included in Japanese dictionaries. We looked up the meaning of the word again. “It creates a good atmosphere that makes people feel surprised or impressed when they see it, and stands out from the crowd” (Sanseido Modern New Japanese Dictionary).

It stands out. That was my first impression of the car when I laid eyes on it. It was my first time seeing the Revuelto in person, so I expected to be intimidated by the power that only a Lamborghini can have, but it was something a little different from usual, my first encounter with a raging bull. Something stuck in my mind. It was a sense of incongruity in a good way, and there were several points that surprised and impressed me.

First of all, the body color. It’s covered in a deep navy that could easily be mistaken for black. This body color, the polar opposite of flashy, is made possible by Inosetec’s color protection film. This was Inosetec’s wish, realized in collaboration with the apparel brand SEQUEL FRAGMENT. Two limited edition colors were announced at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 held in January. One of these colors is the SQ102 Solid Navy that this car is wearing.

Exquisite color balance achieved with great attention to detail

The Heritage Series, one of MV Forged's most popular wheels, features a classic design with a modern twist. Each wheel is not only stylish, but also embodies the high technical skills and know-how of the company's chairman, a former machine tool engineer. The delicate, intersecting lines create a beautiful flower-like pattern.

Perhaps the strange feeling I had was due to the combination of navy and Lamborghini. Navy is known as a receding color, and unlike bold colors like red and yellow, it is said to have a more subdued, subdued appearance. It’s no wonder it’s so popular in business and formal settings. Lamborghinis are often relatively flashy and decorative, but this solid navy, completely devoid of metallic or pearlescent effects, adds a touch of lightness that black lacks. While there are limitations to what can be conveyed through a photograph, I hope readers can appreciate the elegant sheen it creates when bathed in sunlight. Apparently, this color film was finally created after repeated revisions, with Inozetec sending numerous samples. The exquisite color balance, achieved with meticulous attention to detail, gives it a fresh feel, drawing attention without being overbearing.

I was fortunate enough to be able to speak directly with the owner of this car. He said that his commitment to his cars is “not overdone, but with a little extra effort, and with unique customizations that seem like they might be common, to give it my own unique character.” He also said that he is particular about sprinkling originality throughout his car so that when he lines up all his other cars, it’s immediately clear that they all belong to the same owner.

Chic elegance dancing at your feet

That same originality is also evident in the wheels. With the cooperation of Yohei Iimura of Bond Nagoya, MV Forged created the design and created the wheels. The result is the three-piece forged HS20F wheels that fit the front. Because the Revelto’s rim width is limited compared to the Aventador, the center disc is concave to create a three-dimensional effect. The recessed center creates shadows, completely transforming the otherwise monotonous impression. Unlike the front, the rear wheels were chosen as MV Forged Heritage Series HS20s. Both wheels are all-gloss black, and while they may look similar, each one exudes a slightly different aura. Despite being solid black, both wheels feature delicate, woven lines that spread across the entire wheel, adding a chic elegance to the ride. They resemble the floral knots of Mizuhiki cords, and for a moment, they even seem to blend in a touch of Japanese aesthetics.

As the engine starts, I hear the snort of an enraged bull. Finally, I remember that this is a Lamborghini. I am deeply impressed that this is the most “eye-catching” Lamborghini I have ever encountered.
