CITROËN BERLINGO

The interior and exterior design of the Berlingo is slightly more luxurious.

The Fiat Doblo and Citroën Berlingo are siblings, and apart from the interior and exterior design, they share the same basic structure. With the minor changes, the Doblo has become even more plain, while the Berlingo, which had a more pop feel, has been given a slightly sharper design while retaining the elaborate design that is characteristic of Citroën.

The body size is almost the same, and there are no major differences in the living space, luggage space, installed equipment and functions, etc. The biggest difference is that only the Berlingo is equipped with a panoramic glass roof.

Both models also come in a seven-seater long model with an overall length extended by 365mm, but it should be noted that the long model does not come with a panoramic glass roof.

Body size = Length 4405mm x Width 1850mm x Height 1825mm

Wheelbase = 2785mm

The Fiat’s “light ride” and the Citroën’s “soft ride”

Both cars share the same powertrain, with both equipped with the same 1.5-liter diesel turbo engine and 8-speed automatic transmission. The engine specs, gear ratios, and even the WLTC mode average fuel economy of 18.1km/L are the same, but there are slight differences in the ride quality.

It’s unclear if this is due to differences in suspension settings, but the Berlingo with its panoramic roof is 40kg heavier and has a higher center of gravity, which makes the Berlingo feel a bit slower but smoother to ride than the Doblo, which has a lighter feel.

The cheapest of the three brothers

When comparing the vehicle prices of the base grades, the Berlingo, which has an elaborate interior, is about 250,000 yen more expensive. The Berlingo is also subdivided into grades according to seat design and wheel installation, and the price difference can become even larger depending on the grade you choose.

If you want to keep the price down, the Doblo is the only choice. However, there is not much difference in specs or convenience, and the price difference is not that big, so it may be a good idea to choose based on your preference for interior and exterior design and brand.

Vehicle price

Fiat Doblo 4.14 million yen

Citroen Berlingo 4.39 million yen
