Bowmore ARC-54
Whisky distilled in November 1968

Bowmore ARC-54, a collaboration between Aston Martin and Bowmore Distillery, is a rare single malt whisky distilled in November 1968.
Founded in 1779, Bowmore Distillery is one of the oldest Scotch whisky distilleries, based in Bowmore on the island of Islay in Scotland. Since 2014, it has been a subsidiary of Japan’s Suntory. Bowmore Distillery and Aston Martin have now announced Bowmore ARC-54, the second and final release in the collaborative whisky series, ARC.
The Bowmore ARC-54 is an ultra-rare product that combines a hand-blown decanter inspired by the cutting-edge design of the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Valhalla with a rare 54-year-old whisky brewed by Bowmore Distillery. Distilled in November 1968, this rare single malt whisky has been aged using a unique method.
The two whiskies, 61.8% matured in European oak and 38.2% matured in American oak, are blended together over a period of 15 months to create a whisky that engages all of the senses with an endless array of flavors, allowing the drinker to be completely immersed in every drop.
A decanter inspired by the aerodynamics of the Valkyrie

The beautiful decanter of the Bowmore ARC-54, of which only 130 bottles will be sold worldwide, is designed with the aerodynamics of the Aston Martin Valkyrie in mind.
Limited to just 130 pieces worldwide, the Bowmore ARC-54 beautiful decanter is hand-blown and inspired by the aerodynamics of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, including the Venturi tunnel that generates intense downforce, and the natural fluid shapes of Islay, where the Bowmore distillery is located.
The decanter’s flowing, aerodynamic design is enhanced by a glass sculpture reminiscent of a diffuser, highlighting the beautiful amber reflections of the whiskey inside. This single malt, aged for 54 years, offers a complex flavor profile, with zesty citrus notes, delicate floral aromas, salty caramel sweetness, spicy ginger and cinnamon, and a hint of distinctive peat smoke.
Callum Fraser, Chief Blender at Bowmore Distillery, commented on Bowmore ARC-54:
“After 54 years of maturation, Bowmore ARC-54 is a testament to the skill of our distillery team. It embodies what can be achieved by slowing things down and letting fate unfold. This rare creation demonstrates how Bowmore can mature over time with precision and transparency.”
Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman expressed his delight at the announcement of the collaboration with Bowmore.
“The Bowmore ARC-54 is a cutting-edge collaboration between two brands steeped in tradition and history. We’ve taken the innovative ideas seen in our mid-engine sports cars, the Valkyrie and Valhalla, and applied them to our decanters. The ARC-54 decanter replaces airflow with liquid movement to create the unique shape created by Bowmore whisky. This is truly a creative collaboration.”
The estimated winning bid last time was said to be between 24 million and 38 million yen, but how much will it go for this time?
