Porsche 911 Carrera GTS
While the Vantage has the long nose and short deck style that is characteristic of Aston Martin, the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS has undergone repeated modern updates while still retaining an appearance that is instantly recognizable as a 911.
Comparing the dimensions, the 911 Carrera GTS is about 50mm longer, but about 130mm narrower and 30mm taller. This shows that the Vantage is lower and wider than the 911. In terms of weight, the 911 Carrera GTS is over 200kg heavier due to the inclusion of the battery and motor for the hybrid system. If you want to enjoy a light and nimble drive with a classic FR layout, the Vantage seems like the right choice.

AMG V8 turbo or the latest “T-Hybrid”?

Aston Martin Vantage

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS
The Vantage is powered by a Mercedes-AMG 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine, while the 911 Carrera GTS introduces the 911’s first electric powertrain, the T-Hybrid. The T-Hybrid combines a newly developed 3.6-liter flat-six engine with a newly developed electric turbocharger and lightweight lithium-ion battery.
The Vantage’s engine alone produces 665 PS, while the 911 Carrera GTS’s engine alone produces 485 PS, and with the addition of an electric turbo boost, it produces 541 PS. The Vantage’s top speed is 325 km/h, while the 911 Carrera GTS’s is 312 km/h, so the Vantage wins. However, the power of the electric turbo boost is tremendous, and the 911 Carrera GTS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h 0.5 seconds faster.

Emphasis on “values” to bridge the 6 million yen price gap

Aston Martin Vantage

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS
The Vantage boasts a meticulously crafted interior, a hallmark of Aston Martin, while the 911 Carrera GTS is sporty and simple, typical of Porsche. Still, it’s been updated with the times, including the introduction of a 12.6-inch curved display, a first for a 911.
The Vantage, with its internal combustion engine and rear-wheel drive, which embodies the good old British values, or the 911 Carrera GTS, which introduces the new hybrid technology… With a price difference of about 5 million yen, choosing the Vantage seems to depend on whether you can value the British values that Aston Martin upholds.
