GMC HUMMER EV MY26
“King Crab” mode for improved steering performance

The 2026 GMC Hummer EV will get the latest software, “King Crab,” which significantly improves rear-steer mode agility.
GMC will begin selling the market’s first fully electric super truck and SUV, the Hummer EV, in 2021. The newly announced 2026 model will feature the latest software, “King Crab,” which features a new and improved rear steering mode.
King Crab enhances the Hummer EV’s four-wheel steering system, significantly improving control during off-road driving. When King Crab mode is enabled, the rear wheels rotate faster than the front wheels, making it ideal for maneuvering through tight spaces and avoiding obstacles.
King Club will also be available to all Hummer EV owners sold between 2022 and 2025 through an “over-the-air software update (OTA)” that will begin in late 2025. From the beginning of sales of the Hummer EV, GMC had publicly revealed the existence of a “secret idea” to further improve driving performance.
Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer of the GMC Hummer EV, commented on the 2026 model:
“The refreshed Hummer EV is a major step forward with new software and a forward-thinking design. From the very beginning, we’ve been committed to providing over-the-air updates to our owners. Every Hummer EV owner will continue to have access to the latest software and new features will be introduced throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.”
“Carbon Fiber Edition” now available

A new limited edition “Carbon Fiber Edition” is available for pickup and SUV models. In addition to exclusive interior and exterior features, the car’s performance has also been updated, achieving 0-60 mph acceleration in 2.8 seconds.
Starting with the 2026 model, the Hummer EV will be available in a limited edition “Carbon Fiber Edition.” Equipped with the latest 24-module battery, the Carbon Fiber Edition achieves the fastest 0-60 mph time in Hummer EV history at 2.8 seconds. It also features optimized software and propulsion calibration, as well as hardware advancements and various updates.
The Carbon Fiber Edition features a Magnus Gray Matte exterior with a Velocity Ember interior, 22-inch carbon fiber black wheels, mirror caps and skid plates with carbon fiber inserts, a black approach shield, and black badges as standard.
The standard 2026 model features optimized damper tuning for improved on- and off-road ride comfort. Two new exterior colors, “Coast Dune” and “Auburn Matte,” have been added, and two new interior themes, “Granite Drift” and “Stealth Eclipse,” have been introduced.
Production of the 2026 model will begin in late 2025 at GM’s ZERO Assembly Center in Hamtramck, Michigan. The Hummer EV pickup and Hummer EV SUV will be available to order through GMC dealerships in late 2025, with pricing and maximum range to be announced shortly before launch.
