The Valkyrie LM was developed based on the Valkyrie, an LMH-compliant machine introduced in WEC and IMSA from the 2024 season.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie LM track car, which will be produced in a limited run of just 10 units, was developed as a milestone in the history of Aston Martin’s continued involvement in motorsport.

Aston Martin first competed at Le Mans in 1928, five years after the inaugural race. After numerous class victories since 2014, the company began competing in the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship (WRC), including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the Valkyrie from the 2025 season.

The Valkyrie LM is based on the Valkyrie racing car specification developed under Le Mans Hypercar regulations. Like the race specification, it is equipped with a lean-burn version of the Cosworth 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine that produces a maximum output of 707 PS. Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark commented on the Valkyrie LM as follows:

“There is no other track-specific car on the planet like the Valkyrie LM. The Valkyrie, which will be competing to win Le Mans this season, was developed as the only road car-based hypercar class vehicle. At the heart of both the Valkyrie and Valkyrie LM is a powerful 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine.”

“The Valkyrie LM immerses you in the ultimate driving experience only available to our works drivers. For many years, Aston Martin has strived to deliver race car performance to our customers, and there is no greater opportunity than with the Valkyrie LM to get you closer to the cutting edge racing cars that compete in WEC and IMSA.”

Designed to be easy for amateurs to drive

The Valkyrie LM cockpit. It was based on a racing car and has been modified to be suitable for amateur drivers as well as the world’s top racing drivers.

The Valkyrie LM allows drivers to directly experience the performance of the hypercar class, the pinnacle of sports car racing. This time, the differences between the Valkyrie LM and the racing cars used in WEC and IMSA have been minimized, while the car has been improved to be easy for amateur drivers to handle.

The ballast installed in the race specification and the electronics required for FIA-spec vehicles have been removed, and the cockpit interface has been changed to specifications for use on track days, etc. User-friendly open-loop torque control has been introduced, and the drive shaft sensor and input torque sensor have been removed. The V12 engine has been specially calibrated to allow it to use commonly available fuel.

Like the race spec, the rear wheels are driven via a 7-speed sequential transmission. Gear changes are performed using paddle shifters located on the steering wheel. The suspension consists of front and rear double wishbones, push rod torsion bar springs, adjustable side dampers and central dampers. Performance tires specially developed by F1 tire supplier Pirelli are fitted.

The cockpit has been optimized for driver safety, ease of entry, and visibility. The carbon fiber racing seats are equipped with shoulder support and a headrest pad that encircles the head. They are also fitted with a six-point harness and fire extinguisher that meets FIA 8853 standards. The steering wheel also incorporates a driver display and shift light.

Adam Carter, Aston Martin’s Head of Endurance Motorsport, had this to say about the Valkyrie LM:

“As a track-only car, we have kept changes to the Valkyrie LM to a minimum to provide our customers with the best driving experience possible and ensure they enjoy it to the fullest. I would like to emphasize that the specifications are almost identical to the cars currently competing in the WEC and IMSA.”

Driver development program

Aston Martin will introduce a Driver Development Programme to support circuit driving for Valkyrie LM owners.

While Valkyrie LM owners have complete freedom to use their vehicle, Aston Martin has decided to introduce a program to support owners’ driving skills. A dedicated development program will maximize the performance of the Valkyrie LM and provide the ultimate motorsport experience.

The development program eliminates the hassle of traveling to a track and instead provides specialist setup and preparation. It has been created to give drivers the confidence to experience speeds of over 320 km/h on circuits around the world. Offered as a “fly and drive” program, everything is managed by a team of professional engineers, allowing owners to immerse themselves in testing the car’s capabilities in a safe, controlled environment.

The program includes storage and maintenance of the car at Aston Martin, as well as transportation to and from the venue. Prior to the circuit run, owners will also receive simulator coaching. Before the actual run, owners will be guided by Aston Martin’s professional drivers for a track walk and classroom session.

After the race, the engineering team will provide logger data and on-board video analysis, and the car and driver kit will include a helmet, full HANS kit, racing suit, boots, custom-fit ear tips, driver gloves and fireproof underwear.

Valkyrie LM is scheduled to be delivered to owners in time for the new Track Day program, which will begin in the second quarter of 2026.
